Hello from the Peak District UK

My last clockwork bike was a Focus Sam Carbon- I bought it on a whim whilst visiting Innerleithen and I consider it second place (only losing out to my Kenevo 2019 Expert which I traded it in for) in the pantheon of all the bikes I've ever owned. I love Focus Bikes- particularly the geometry...

Kenevo 2019- broken shifter and spoke

Agreed- it wouldn't have been clearer. The reason I entitled the post as I did was due to the fact that I also had a spoke break (as outlined in OP)- therefore the question was about the bike, not specifically the shifter. As you can see, I've since put both occurrences down to blind...

Kenevo 2019- broken shifter and spoke

I think I mentioned earlier that my "crash" was no more than a fall OTB with the bike landing in tall grass. If I'd been going 30mph through a rock garden or went OTB off a six foot drop off, I wouldn't have posted. I have a basic appreciation of physics and I can see that if I stack it at...

Kenevo 2019- broken shifter and spoke

Agreed, Dax. Putting my issues down to blind bad luck. But I still think there is the issue of under-engineering. It is much better to have a bent £20 hanger than pay for a new mech, but wouldn't you rather have a £40 hanger that's beefier that doesn't bend as easy? It's not like I'm going...

Kenevo 2019- broken shifter and spoke

Thanks for the feedback Dax. I know so far that this is only two separate anecdotes about components breaking surprisingly easy- but I do wonder if it hints at a wider engineering problem from using 'normal' bike components on much heavier E-bikes. Anyone else had any similar issues?

Kenevo 2019- broken shifter and spoke

Absolutely agree, it is an MTB shifter; nowt different about it! I guess the question is, can you make an E-bike that has 180mm travel which has the durability to take what you naturally would throw at a 180mm bike, using some components with "nowt different about them". Was trying to get...

Kenevo 2019- broken shifter and spoke

Hi All, Just wanted to see if anyone has faced any issues with the durability of their Kenevos. I pinged a spoke on a red trail on Sunday- not sure how it happened- was quite a tame ride for me. Didn't think it was a big deal and moved on. Took it out again today and had a fairly...

Hello from the Peak District UK

I'd give a Spesh Levo a go as a demo bike if I were you! I guarantee you'll buy it!

Hello from the Peak District UK

I love my 2019 Kenevo- would highly recommend- can only get a small bottle in the cage due to the Ohlins spring, though. Perfect for Dark peak escapades. Although I guess the levo is closer to the Whyte you currently ride. Also, if you were thinking of demoing bikes first, pretty sure I saw...

    Greetings from North Manchester

I was lucky enough to be a teenager right through the rise and fall of Oasis and have fond memories of my teen years in manchester in the mid nineties; hence my preference. Wish I could get a new bike every season- as it is my Kenevo will have to last two years. Can't wait to see how the tech...

The logic seems to stand up re: colourway and ultimately, sales figures don't lie. Is it possible that there'll be an over-supply of used Kenevos in black at some point, though? If your Kenevo goes in the spring, Al, what will replace it? It's great that Manchester is internationally regarded...

I would think that Specialized will discontinue the Kenevo in the cali fade and blue colourways in the not-too distant future; whilst I imagine a black Kenevo would be a perpetual offering- hence the more vivid colours will date the bike more easily once they are no longer available? Oh, and...

I took the new Blue Kenevo. Liked the Cali fade as well- looks really good in the flesh. The black looked okay, but not my style. Happy I chose the blue- it gets plenty of comments at the trails.

    Kenevo first ride

Interesting to see what others are getting out of their rides. I took mine out for it's second spin today. Went on a 90 minute, 30 km ride with 1000 ft of ascent. 12km of the total 30km was road riding there and back. I used trail mode most of the time and came back with 60% battery. Average HR...

How did you find EMTB Forums?

Saw one of your videos on Youtube. Before I'd seen the vid, I had never even thought about an EMTB purchase. A bit of research and a few more clicks and my curiosity cost me £5500. A new Kenevo was my best purchase decision ever. When are the EMTB L/S Tech Jerseys going to be available again?

Thanks for the warm welcome, Dave. I am literally spending every moment off my kenevo thinking about being back on it. Glad to have access to a community of like-minded people who are as enthusiastic as me!

    Greetings from North Manchester

I took possession of my Kenevo Turbo Expert Yesterday. I made my decision after research on here and the wider internet. I was slightly reckless in not having the patience to test ride anything first. I went to my LBS (Leisure Lakes Bury), traded in my Carbon Focus Sam (which I truly loved)...
