Anyone else follow the developments of future battery technology?

No, I stopped when I realized the new break thrus never materialize. I'm only interested what's available NOW.

    eMTB curious...

Lighter the bike = less range or some serious £/€/$. The new Lapierre has only 250Wh battery, I would never buy a bike with that small of a battery. And I don't see this changing in the near future. Yes, you might save a few hundrd grams here and there, but nothing radical. And it really does...

    E MTB as only bike

I ride both. Just go myself a new Pole Evolink 158 (replaced Santa Cruz Heckler). I've been riding the Evolink mostly in bike parks. I ride my ebike (Turbo Levo) on trails and commuting. Tbh with another set of wheels&tires I could use the Levo for the bike parks as well, but getting new bikes...

    SRAM Guide brakes

So it happened to me, rear brake lever (Guide R, 2017 Levo) would not return. I called my LBS and they confirmed what I've read online - need to replace them under warranty. They've had to replace 20 or so.. Otherwise I've been very happy with the brakes, good modulation and stopping power...

Smaller capacity batteries available for Levo?

Levo itself is not a light bike and I wonder if you could actually notice the diffrence of 1kg/2lbs lighter battery when riding. Would not be worth it imho.

    Why are they so popular?

It's my second emtb (first was KTM Macina Freeze e-fat). I shortlisted three bikes. a) Merida, but availability was none, b) Commencal Meta Power, really liked the specs, but as mail order bike I did not want to take the risk, c) Turbo Levo which I then got because 1) immediately available from...

    iPhone or Garmin on Levo?

I was able to attach Bolt mount directly to Turbo Levo stem cap with zip ties. There are some adapters available. I had a quick look at Edge 130, seems expensive for what it is (no mapping). For the same money I would get the Bolt or pay extra for the Garmin 520 (Plus). But this of course...

    iPhone or Garmin on Levo?

Battery is life is good enough, 10+ hrs. Wahoo claims 15 hours, but back light, leds etc affect it. I don't know if it shows anything else than battery status, doubt it. I forgot to mention that one of the reason I got the Bolt are the hard buttons. I ride gloves on, so touch screens are pain...

    iPhone or Garmin on Levo?

I use a Wahoo Bolt Elemnt. Great little device. It can read the battery charge level from the Levo and that's enough for me. Usability is very good, easy to load GPX routes into it and it has a good Strava and smart phone integration. Black and white screen is easy to see even in direct sun...

Dumb shit you've forgotten when you go biking

Last summer I forgot front wheel, rear axle and helmet. This summer I'll check 1000 times that everything is packed. And I'm probably going to forget something anyway :-P
