For individual models/brands it's hard to advise because there's so many great bikes out there at the £5k mark. My number one piece of advice would be keep more than half an eye on service and support. With an eMTB, it's a different ball game altogether if you start having issues. If in your...
Isn't that the exact same display that is being sold Giant branded in Europe? ?
Edit. Yes. looks like it to me.

Have you been washing the bike with a hose? The only time I've had mine shutting off was after it had been washed then stored. I traced the problem to water ingress of the RideControl One switch unit and dried it out and avoided getting water near it in future, no more issues.
Looks to be from here.

Reviews as well.
There's a big difference between auto and 3 lights hodgy, but yeah, that's about what I'd expect out of mine tbh. Particularly if there's some decent climbing on the route.
It's a shame you have to stick down in Eco if you wanna get out for more than a few hours without a charge or battery...
I can see what Gary is saying. Sometimes when I browse this thread it feels like people are saying 'It's such great value, you'd be crazy not to buy one!'. It is great value, almost certainly the best value, entry-level FS eMTB available (well, semi-available), but it is still an entry level...
The extender isn't for the 2020 Trance either :(
As for making it work, anything is possible I guess. I think the main problem to overcome is that the extender plugs into the charger socket and as you'll know, the cranks can't turn with that plug in. No idea why Giant thought that was a good idea.
Hmm, I'm torn. On the one hand sometimes having assistance above 25km/h would be useful (and fun, I'm sure!), but on the other hand I fairly frequently ride on shared use trails and the assistance limit goes some way to keeping passing speeds more sensible.
Seems like the more we all...
I'm a fairly average sized chap so can't offer much direct advice, but would say looking at that photo you almost need an entire bike which is 25% bigger. 29er wheels will be a good start but I'm thinking anything 'off the shelf' will always be making do with too small really.
Edit. Sorry 25%...
I don't know where you stand legally but I always point out that 'legally' only matters if you're prepared to take it to that level (which will usually cost you a whole lot more ££££ and stress).
My advice would be to try and work with Fantic directly, prod about and find the contact for a...
Sorry, I'm with raine. They answered the original question in the very first response. Once you get on to whether an emtb needs a special fork you might as well start asking how many of us need 150mm travel or need £80 pedals or need a £5k emtb for that matter! :D
I'm glad you're getting on a little better. I think the problem with these things is that they're almost too good. It's very tempting when you go for a ride to bang it in auto/high assist and have a blast, then after an hour and a half you're fresh as a daisy but the bike is drained. It takes a...
I've got a 2020 Trance E+2 and have been using Auto mode heavily in the month I've had it. Yes, it eats battery but also gives full 360% assistance on steep climbs. Around my area (and a large part of the reason I bought an emtb) it's difficult to go in any direction without hitting hills and...
Well that's cool, but what an odd situation. I would wager that Giant have a better display unit in the works (to compare with Bosch Kiox) and don't want to promote that unit in certain markets.
Thanks for the link to the RideControl One too. For £60 I thinkn I might order a spare given the...
I personally wouldn't go in that direction. I'd either keep the bike if I felt able to adapt to the larger size or return and get something that's a better fit.
Am I going crazy or are the frame sizes for those Rails all over the shop? M standover height taller than the L and nearly the same as...
Yeah, well spotted! That's only a few miles from me so I go up past there fairly regular, nice route up through Randwick woods.
Here's another one for content! :)
And a clean one!
How are you finding that Giant saddle Andy? Mine lasted about 3 long rides before I was perched delicately on my office chair browsing for a replacement! :ROFLMAO:
