Ned's Atomic Dustbin on Mt. Seymour on the North Shore ... this is an old classic that's been recently updated. Probably best described as janky flow.
Shoulder's still a bit messed up from a crash a few weeks ago so the riding itself is what it is.
ps. I did do a version with a bit of an...
New helmet. Now that I've gone back to full face, my super air is just too hot. All the reviews and comments say the proframe will be a lot cooler. Proframe RS ... Not thrilled with the pink accents, but in stock helmets for 20% off at one of the lbs near me and not worth the extra money to not...
Definitely ... we did have better grip on some of the black stuff we rode because it's jankier and have a bit of slab (Squamish slabs have pretty good grip) but the flow trails (we also rode Half-Nelson) made us work for traction.
Had a bit of a nasty off a few weeks or so ago at a place called the Woodlot and that convinced me to put the chin bar onto my helmet and go full-face. The upside is that I can chin mount my camera and get the best mounting position I've used.
This is a Squamish blue flow trail in the Diamond...
Thanks ... while I think I would prefer the Torch, this validates the decision to keep some cash in my pocket. I don't mind spending for good glasses (have Maui Jim polarized for driving, Ray-Ban polarized for casual wearing and Nike polarized for general activities), I definitely scratch MTB...
@irie thanks ... that seems to imply a couple of different things. One, mostly aesthetics and the second that they are better ... just wondering if anyone's ridden with both and whether they think the price difference ($100 CAD to $260 CAD) is justified.
I have a set of older Oakley Flak Jackets that I used to use for road riding on sunny days, but have switched to different glasses for that. Oakley makes a set of Prizm Trail lenses for them but not the Trail Torch. It's about 60% cheaper than buying new Oakley's with the Trail Torch.
Is the...
Primarily weight and nimbleness. I find the Rail almost too planted when descending and sometime harder to correct if I'm off line. I like the more conventional mountain bike feel of the EXe.
Although some of the stuff around here to ride is really pure downhill and the Rail excels at that, we...
Am I missing something? There's no way to confirm what firmware versions there are on the bike? The TQ app has no data for the fields and I can't find any version info the Trek Central app? My LBS said the updated the bike to the latest firmware but it doesn't include ANT+ connections to the...
He's been reprehensible in his business dealings going back to paypal. There's plenty of historical information about the way he treats people that makes him a POS.
You're making an assumption that I'm making an assumption based solely on how he's positioned "X". My views of Musk have nothing...
Congratulations ... I take no issue with your opinion of the value of a Tesla (it's your opinion, you're entitled) even if I don't share that opinion. Both of us are entitled. Why do you feel it's necessary to mock people who use other criteria, including the ones I use, for decision making?
You're not the least bit simplistic, are you?
The question is about where my consumer dollars end up. Supporting Shimano today is not endorsing their actions 80 years ago. If the profits earned from my consumer choices wind up either in the pockets of reprehensible people like Elon Musk or...
I am not suggesting that we don't need to pivot away from fossil fuels. We absolutely do. However, I am pretty sure that mass adoption of BEVs is not the answer because of all the other environmental harms. Whether it's green/blue hydrogen (either FCEV or ICE) or synthetic fuels, or something...
Not liking Teslas is not ill-informed. Liking Teslas is personal opinion as is disliking them. I think they're ugly, I think they're poor value, I think they are gimmick over substance ... all of which is personal opinion. But it's not ill-informed.
What is ill-informed is blindly accepting the...
You've clearly been drinking the Tesla Kool-Aid. You probably think you're saving the environment too (that's not climate change denial, that's about the environmental costs of BEVs).
Personally, if I thought BEV's were the answer, I certainly wouldn't be doing business with a sub-human POS...
