for sure - we all have different needs; huge battery isn't one of mine. The over run feature on bosch does sound awesome :). Re the battery usage of the ep8 - I assumed this is just a different tune. More power or torque uses more battery. There seems to be some confusion there though - for...
How awesome! 60%, as others have said, is supposedly the ideal storage charge. I too rarely need a full charge, so I go to 80% most of the time. Once after the 4th or 5th charge I do a full charge for bms. The beauty of this setup for me is that sometimes I intend to ride but it just doesn't...
I have a 2020 merida e140 that I've been doing a lot of learning on. I knew I wanted a good technical climber to suit the tracks where I mostly ride. Tight switchbacks, big rocks and slabs, steep up and down. I've pushed the seat all the way forward to help on the climbs - this has been awesome...
I've been pondering this. How many of us bought ebikes and never rode our non ebikes again?
If 2nd hand bikes are good to sell where you are, why not have an easy life. Sell your bike and buy a new known good emtb from a dealer you like. Merida are pretty good value. Or from bicycles online -...
yeah, you have to consider where and how to use the compressed air; awesome in brake calipers, inside of wheel stays, the cluster, derailer, rubber chainstay protector. Air gets where the brush doesn't. But, yes, a bit of consideration does come into play (mechanical sympathy?)
yes, I think that was just specialized.
When you say "shimano motors are not repairable"; I believe you're talking about out of warranty? I don't know that any manufacturers repair their motors. I don't think they give instructions on how to do motor repairs either. There is a 3rd party dude...
Asking the obvious here, are you able to lower the seatpost into the frame? Loosen seat post clamp, push seat post down an inch or so? That bike doesn't look sized right though (as Gary has said). Your seat is going to be a fair way below the height of your bars - great for steep downhill...
Given where you live, washing would seem to be easily avoided. I imagine dust and some light mud now and then, unless you're looking for mud. Folks over in the UK look as though they're often in mud and water, so washing is needed and doesn't need to be any worse than their riding conditions. We...
That's kind of like a political statement - not much value. Is there an e system that is a winner in the reliability department? I've been good with shimano so far, but I don't deny all the trouble that many others have had. The thing is, that seems pretty universal between brands - some people...
😂 I'm subscribed to this dude's channel. Like Steve on embn - it's just hard to tell when he's being straight. Lots of pseudo reviews, like Steve on embn. Remember when they did those little competitions between other brands and specialized? Specialized were their major sponsor at the time. I...
I don't. It seems to me that people, like me, get an ebike then join this forum. Or they sit on this forum for a while, then get an ebike. How often have we read intro's like that - it seems all the time with new folk here. I'm in the 2nd camp - this forum was part of my education pre purchase...
We live on top of a steep climb. To get to my closest track it's a steep drop down sealed road, then a steep climb. It's a great hill for bedding brakes 😂
I had about 2,500km out of max terra. That was all bush - mostly hardpack / rocky. It was the lightest of the maxxis casings but with a tannus insert.
I'm running dhr2 in dual compound now. It has a stiffer sidewall - I think 90 tpi? I do about 2km on road getting to the track and back now, so...
A new pseudo review (think embn sponsored review) by a mondraker retailer . Just to throw a spanner in the works have you seen the marin trail e2? Very slack ha but with a very steep sta. I'd buy it if it was in stock.
I've been looking at the mondraker; I like it. The emphasis every where else seems to be on descending - I actually like the climbs (if they're technical) as well. It has doubled my riding. A slack head angle isn't your friend in technical climbs or tight turns. Even the spiel on oversized...
well, no. I was the one to bring up cadence. The original poster is riding a high geared bike in top gear still putting in his own "max power" and still getting assistance. It was the first thing that stood out to me is that his cadence must be way down at a relatively low ground speed to be...
