I started with a Thron2. Its a very solid ride but heavy and a bit ponderous. I've moved on to having two bikes - a lightweight trail bike (Levo SL) and an enduro (Merida e160). I suggest you move on to a bike that is more in keeping with your developing skill and experience.
Garmin 1040 for me also (big display) and am also in Scotland. I have difficulty with Garmin+Komoot to begin the route or to get to the start. Phone is useful for this, or a careful study the start area on the home computer.
Thanks for the reply Astro, I pretty-much get that now. A new hip next month after that will replace a 10 speed 2022 Merida e160 with something similar with manufacturer-installed Auto-shifting. Can't find even one bike now! Otherwise, get a new 11 speed Merida E160 and lbs will install it...
Quite a jumpy line of thinking, if I may say so. I have had three Bosch Gen4 bikes (still have two) with no such issues. You bought a respected manufacture's bike fitted with a respected manufacturer's motor from a LBS less than a year ago. You are entitled to redress if the bike is not riding...
I've found two bikes with 12-speed Shimano auto-shift pre-installed. One SL @ 17kg and one enduro @ 24kg

It was explained above the technical reason preventing 12-speed auto-shift but maybe that's been overcome?
It's a journey. Start from wherever you are and go from there. Improve with experience, sell one and buy another. You should end up with a number of bikes that cover the gamut of your needs, then buy another bike.
London Fire Brigade is asking e-bike users to check their batteries following a fire caused by an exploding battery that has been officially classed by the UK’s regulatory body as a “dangerous” product.
The battery pack caught alight in a corridor of a hotel in Kensington on Friday 26 January...
If you are right, Cycling Weekly reported in May '23 that the following Canyon bikes were UL 2849 certified
Grail:ON, Precede:ON, Spectral:ON, Torque:ON
I still don't understand why they can't offer auto-shifting for 12 speed bikes even if it meant auto over cogs 2-12 and manual for cog 1 (like an overdrive cog) and a special cassette. Surely they can't leave it like is?
They are now branded UL Solutions and approx. half of e-bike manufacturers use UL2849 certification. UL2849 provides a good chance of a 'recognised' safety standard of e-bike electrical systems, including the batteries. Worth checking (link provided above) if your next bike complies.
