    Whyte Shape.It link/shock extender

Mine is now on order. I've been told it's coming at the end of September.

    Low BB...

I alternate between my e150rs and this which definitely has a high BB (and no seat!)

    2020 Whyte - Shifter Cable Re-Route

This is the sort of thing I mean https://www.emtbforums.com/community/threads/cube-hybrid-stereo-140-2020-bash-plate.15092/

    Low BB...

There's supposed to be a new shock linkage kit coming out called 'switch it' that will lift the BB height. My LBS phoned Whyte and confirmed this. I keep looking for info but can find nothing. I emailed Whyte but have had no response!

    Whyte e-mtb

I'm running 2.6 eddy currents which have enough clearance. I tried the 2.8 version which did fit but it was a bit too tight for my liking.

    2020 Whyte - Shifter Cable Re-Route

I got the idea when I watched the latest Chris Akrigg video Not sure if GT bikes come as standard with one. Knowing Chris, he's probably made it himself!

    2020 Whyte - Shifter Cable Re-Route

Yes, that looks to be the right one. My LBS had the full kit box so I could have a rummage and pick what I needed. I'm toying with the idea of using the old cable hole as an anchor point for a small stainless bash/skid plate, the other end of which would fasten where the battery cover screw...

Welcome to the Whyte Bikes section

I test rode one at Chevin cycles in Otley. Didn't buy from them as they wouldn't do part ex so ended up at LL in Bury!

    2020 Whyte - Shifter Cable Re-Route

Haha, I've just re read what I wrote earlier. Bloody predictive text! It was meant to say chainstays?

    2020 Whyte - Shifter Cable Re-Route

An excellent write up of what you've done, glad my posts were inspirational. I'm going to do the same about waiting before I drill the frame and wait to see one in the flesh first. Still can't wait to see the new shock extender either. I still don't get where the 2021 bike has gained 5mm more...

    2021 Whyte

That's a result. Back when I had my 146s carbon, the seat post clamping sleeve came loose in the frame so I took it back to the shop expecting an argument over it being abused etc. Anyway, he says, 'blimey, that's the second one this week!' It went back to whyte and returned having been fixed...

Nah, you need to insist on a new bike or at least a frame swap

I agree with Kilham5, it looks like a protective layer to protect the anodising while they fit the motor. Have you tried to peel it off?

    2021 Whyte

Yep, perfect. Seems mad that they've left the speed sensor wire hanging in the breeze and not routed it along with the brake hose. Is there a blanking plug in the redundant hole at the bottom of the frame or have they left it unpunched? ,

    2021 Whyte

Not so far and as you say, the short run shouldn't have that much influence on it. It would be nice to hide that ferrule that joins the cables inside the chain stay but that would mean drilling the hole bigger which I would avoid as it's at an angle. A full run of that spiral housing would...

    2021 Whyte

This seems to be the neatest option and places the cable nearest the pivot axis. I don't think drilling the frame to take a grommet would be of any benefit with this routing. Here is the link to the flexible housing https://www.bike24.com/p2359915.html

    2021 Whyte

It comes as a 25cm length with a double ferrule at one end so I had to buy two to get two ferrules so it could be added into the existing cable. It's basically spiral wound outer casing like old brake cable outer but in a smaller size. It can bend round a very small radius. It seems to be...

    2021 Whyte

That's great, just clear pics of how it's routed and where it exits the frame will be fine.

    2021 Whyte

Hi, did you manage any more pics of the gear cable routing? Mine is stripped and ready to mod depending on how the new routing works. This is my current adaption using a jagwire flexible cable section bought from bike24

    2021 Whyte

As soon as I get clear pictures of how it's routed the drill will be out! I've even got the proper grommets ready and waiting. My current routing is alongside the motor under the crank spindle which works ok for now.
