Here in the US, according to the website the price for a 9.7 is unchanged. The only changes I found are the BNG (bold new graphics...OK, different colors), Kiox and brakes....and it gained 2 lbs (1 Kg), Scanning through the specs I cannot figure out how the bike got heavier, aside from the...
I did a "side-by-side" comparison, Rail 9.7 to Levo, but I made a huge mistake, I wore my AirPods when I tested the Trek (not loud, so I can hear the music and the tires gripping the trail) but I forgot them when I rented the Levo. I remember being able to hear the Bosch when it got into its...
I use a Garmin Montana, yes it is huge and heavy, yes the mount isn't great (I secured it with some zipties) but I haven't found a phone app that easily manages tracks and provides good track following guidance (like that little arrow pointing the way). Also, I find the data field selection and...
Apparently he can't stop riding it long enough to post. :)
I am following a similar thought process and was chasing suspension spec per dollar value when I read on this forum the suggestion to get the cheap Yari fork and put a spring kit in it. Now I think the Trek Rail 7 or 9.7 are my...
Do you think a 2.6 would fit on the rear too? If the fork/frame will accept the larger tires...well...that's a different story...
Still has the 34 fork though.....
On the SL I can't get past the skinny 2.3 tires. Out here in Arizona where we have lots of rocks, big tires, run tubeless with low air pressure are the way to go. 27.5x2.8 have fallen out of favor :( and 29x2.6 are the closest newer eMTBs come, so that is as far as I can compromise. It seems...
I was going to reply similar to Doomanic but as I was typing it got me thinking.
Specialized Mission Control allows setting the max power and percent support as a fixed value. During my demo I set Trail at 40% support and 100% power and used that mode for climbing, but I found it harder to...
Now we're talkin'! Great idea! Buying decision game-changer, it untangles the geometry/motor/suspension quagmire. I wish I could sit down with a tech at an LBS and talk suspension like I can with you all, thanks again for all the great info.
Really short conversation as they stumble around about no re-sale value on new product take offs and they can't give a break on retail pricing. Basically LBS sell bikes as they come in the box, if you want to upgrade they are happy to order those parts for you...at full retail.
Thanks for the...
I just joined the forum after reading all the great information on this thread. Thank you all for your contributions to an active forum I am excited to join.
I am looking to buy an eMTB and demo'ed both a Rail and a Levo. I did not see on this thread any discussion of suspension. I get...
