Does anybody know how and if the handlebar stop intended to stop the handlebar impacting the frame can be adjusted? Mine is turning 90 degrees to the right but not half as much to the left. It's a 2023 Spectral:On and there appears to be some sort of half-moon shaped crown race on the fork, but...
Just an update on this one. So far I had two occasions of the cover coming loose or power cutting out. One time I went through a really rough rock garden, the other was a bump on a log. Not ideal, but in both times the cover just loosened, so no danger while riding. If it stays that way I can...
Interesting, rubber side sealing better is another interpretation that makes sense to me.
My interpretation was that the metal disc facing the inner part of the bearing would ensure that only the spinning middle bushing of the bearing turns. Otherwise the rubber would be pressed against the...
Thanks for your reply. I visited a (actually two) shops to confirm and got it approved by Canyon afterwards.
The brass washer is apparently quite common just there to prevent the head from damaging the chainstay. It is not Canyon's spec on the M129. Both mechanics said they'd probably leave it...
TLDR: Can some kind soul with a M129 (2022) Spectral:On tell me the correct orientation and order of the washers that go in there?
The story so far:
I wanted to check the bearings for wear and did not realize that there are washers between the chainstay part and the bearings in the frame. They...
Given the trails and your comments I don't think the Strive would be wrong in any way, but as a Spectral owner I am biased towards it and would recommand it over the Strive. If you say the Spectral rips compared to the Wild I would say definitely Spectral, also the trails you show do not need...
Sweet bike,
as a new owner of a '22 CF9 I'm sad they got rid of the usb port and moved the on/off switch and the clunky charging port cable harness to the downtube. I wouldn't want to have to work on these parts, though.
Also, just curious, what is that blue thing in place of the air top cap on...
I can't give you an exact number, but I loosened a bolt with a torque wrench and it was pretty much bang on 20nm if that helps. The surrounding bolts of main pivot and such have similar torque values printed on them so I'd think its safe to assume 20nm. It is overengineered quite a bit anyway so...
Nothing major but frustrating since it came this way out of the box and the cover is deformed as well. It was not fastened securely and stuck out. They send me the cable harness but said there is no spare part for the socket on the battery and it works anyway. I can't argue with it works...
Thanks for the reply. That picture you posted looks exactly as complicated as I feared it would be. Interesting to see how it looks down there, though.
Hi, has anybody changed the internal cable hose for the rear brake? I'd like to fit XTs on my CF9 and need to swap the hoses and feel a bit intimidated by the whole motor/bottom bracket assembly. Is this generally something for a shop to do or can I do that by myself. I have experience working...
The ravages of time pushed me earlier into e-bike territory than I had planned. I'll do both, for now. But man is it fun to ride an ebike. The thing is glued to the ground though :)
