It's kind of a shame Apple hasn't implemented some sort of more nuanced scheme for managing discovery for theft recovery devices.
I'd be fine with a scheme that perhaps required payment or some other kind of 'activation' to allow getting location info of a theft tracking device like this. As...
Apparently it's more or less just an Airtag with an alarm attached to it. Which is not a bad thing, as it puts it all together into a convenient package with it's own battery...
If you're a bigger rider (by weight) then the added assistance of the Comp is your friend on climbs. I know it certainly made a difference hauling my ass around on climbs, my knees can't take it otherwise.
40 years on and I still have a scar in my thigh where a seat post bolt left too long gouged into it. I still shudder thinking about the >schlorp!< sound it made pulling it out of my leg. But when you're a kid, broke, and don't have the pieces to 'fix it right' you tend to do dumb things like...
Decades ago, back injury and poor ergonomics of keyboard use that led to RSI, resulting in annoying back/hand pain unless I adjust things 'just so'. This means fine-tuning all the saddle adjustments: height, tilt and front/back slide. Along with changing the stem for both height/reach. My...
An interesting observation from the comments here is the UK has a different take on things. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm from the US and we've certainly got out own share of nonsense.... but the e-biking seems to trigger some un-stereotypical responses from Brits.
I tell them "come here and listen to the popcorn sound my aging knees make". "If it wasn't for the pedal assist I would be able to get out here AT ALL". This generally gets a nod of acceptance.
Well, that and my being fairly direct, 6'3" and 250# kind of non-verbally says "don't push your luck".
Given how spendy the glass is I'm not sure I'd put suction cups on it.
But anyone dumb enough to jump into a festering swimming pool like that, well...
I had their analog Bike S from back in the late 90's. Made by Votec. Held up pretty well, and Votec was good for the unique fork parts I needed.
Now I just lug my Levo Comp around on the back of my Cayenne.
I keep googling on bike trackers and have yet to settle on anything. I'd like to get "something" but am leery of it turning into yet another fee every month, eventually exceeding the cost of the bike!
Sorry to hear of the theft!
This is why I try to avoid ever having anyone come to my place when selling items. And if an item isn't small enough to be easily transported and shown elsewhere, I'll drag it outside and keep all doors/windows closed and anything else out of sight. It's too easy for...
I'm in the same weight class, I also have bad knees (tendons, not the joints). I rode them both back-to-back and found the Comp gave me better assistance during steeper climbs. That is, the Comp was able to keep a solid amount of momentum with less pedal cranking, whereas the SL needed me to...
This is a timely thread. I'm looking for new shorts.
When I last rode regularly I found gel shorts/seats were often worse than nothing because the gel would get squished out of place if you spent more than a few minutes really seated on them. I ended up a lot happier (and in less pain) with...
I'm a big, tall guy and found the drivetrains are very different. I actively disliked the Bosch used on R&M bikes. I tried both chain and belt and the Rohloff gears. It just felt unnatural to someone that's ridden nothing but derailleur-equipped bikes, for decades. I liked the Yamaha setup on...
Have to say the handgrips suck though. Got some Ergon's on order.
That and a new saddle. The factory one's not awful but I know there's better to be had.
I'm an older and taller rider (6'3"). The dropper remote has the added benefit of making it easier to throw the leg over the bike when getting on.
Use the remote, mash it down, throw a leg over, start pedaling, pop the remote and you're back to ride height.
I remember days from childhood...
I found a large 2020 (at Spokes Etc, in Arlington) after scouring two dozen shops in my area. Found it and was about to buy it when one of the other sales reps said "have you tried the XL?". And they HAD one. Rode the L and then the XL, back-to-back and there's just a wee bit more 'space' for...
I think you're correct. I've since had a chance to try both a Levo SL and a Levo Comp, both properly adjusted. The Comp was nearly perfect. The SL lacked the same amount of torque that the Comp provided. That and the weight savings of the SL, well, that's wasted given my "current" body...
