Just got one this year and love it so far. Super comfy and light weight. I've only ridden once with the chin bar as most of my riding so far this year has been flat locals, but when I did ride some rougher terrain I didn't even notice the chin bar. Super easy to convert. And it's not stupidly...
Huh? I said I wasn’t on the bike for longer than a day or two. Also said you’d likely get used to it. And said that the motor that I ended up with doesn’t seem to have that issue so either I have taken it into account or it doesn’t exist on that motor.
Did I miss something or do you need a...
I actually found this to be a problem with the Brose motor when I tried it. I found that it provided power after I stopped pedalling so you'd get this extra little bit of juice that if you weren't expecting could throw off your balance. I'm sure you get used to it eventually but I was riding...
I wish...I'm in Canada so that would be more likely 5 - 8 weeks. Definitely thinking of putting cush on whatever I end up with. Just have to find a local that will install them for me.
@Rail97Rider the rim is dented, likely from a rock hit of some sort. Pretty common to destroy wheels where I ride. I had thought about adding Cushcore but none of my local LBSs will install and I'm not ready to take that on myself.
Going to do some digging on DT Swiss rims for ebikes.
Seems my rear wheel took some damage and needs to be replaced. LBS can order a replacement but I'm wondering if there is something a little more bomb proof I should upgrade to?
I'm currently trying to source a Bell Super Air R Spherical in Canada. Sounds like the best of both worlds and instead of spending a min of $200 on a traditional and then $3 - 400 on a full face it seems pricing is about 350CDN which is totally reasonable. Wouldn't be sitting here nursing a...
Funny that this thread is trending this week. I spent Wednesday night at the hospital getting my face stitched back together after a nasty but simple and otherwise unexceptional fall, the only thing I can attribute the damage to was the speed I was possibly doing thanks to the assist. I have to...
That's what I'm hoping for! The XR5s (on my Trek Rail 7) slip on everything! I'm going to hunt around a little and see if I can source a pair this season. My LBS says they are only expecting some in November. Would be nice to have that confidence for the fall though.
Honestly my biggest beef...
Thanks all! I've been caring for my dropper and everything seems good in that regard. I keep a clean rag with me for those dirty days so I can wipe it down mid-ride. I've also managed to keep that ring on tight. We over torqued it at my LBS by about 10% and it's now holding fine. After 600K...
Huh! Well I would have actually though storing the bike with dropper lowered would be best as it would avoid any dust build up on the post. Will start storing it with it up! Also the dust cloth for the trails is not a bad idea at all! Thanks folks! Now if I could just keep my chain ring...
I have never had a dropper before but after 2 weeks with my bike is feels like there is sand or something in the dropper. What is the best way to clean and lube these things?
I gotta read up on the casing differences. That said I read a bit about CushCore in general and I am really into the idea for a couple reasons but biggest being insurance, it protects my rims which in my area can be eaten quickly, but it also provides a run flat which I can see coming in handy...
We have plenty of rock but I'm thinking the addition of cushcore would likely help. It's interesting that Devinci and Kona ebikes come with the Maxxis but no mention of cushcore...
Hey All! I recently got a Rail 7 and have put 200K on it in a week. I've managed to ride everything from super dry hard pack to super wet and slippy forests in that short period of time thanks to some weird timing (we were already drought like and then it opened up about 3 days ago). I found...
Well I did it and it's done. Just did my first 30+K ride this morning and ended up downtown. Will hit the hills either this afternoon or tomorrow. Super happy and can't wait to put it through it's paces. Thanks for the advice here folks!!!
Dude was totally apologetic when he called to inform me. We had spent a *lot* of time on the phone yesterday going over everything. He asked me a million questions about my riding and spent the time making sure I was going to be happy with a Medium even though I wanted the Large. The reality is...
