My medium M10 2022 model is 17.85kg without pedals after a lot of upgrades, none that take away the performance though. Still got the 36 Fork and FloatX rear shock.
Quoting myself here but I just wanted to report the results of my 3 chains in rotation method as I am putting on a completely new drivetrain this weekend.
I have managed to get 5500km (3417miles) from the original SLX cassette and chains on my M10. The bike still shifts perfectly but I am...
I average 125km per week according to Strava. I also tend to keep my bikes for a long time, my last bike was not electric but it did over 7000kms and I owned for about 7 years.
My Rise in an M10 so the chain and cassette are SLX with XT shifter and derailleur. I purchased 2 more SLX chains to...
Just gone over 2500km this week, my 3rd chain is on, the other two have 1000km on them each. Bike rides and shifts as good as new. It will be interesting to see how far I can go with the original drivetrain.
I did have to replace the jockey wheels on the derailleur at about 1600km.
I went with 165mm, seems to be working well for me.
That's odd, I've never dropped a chain on this bike and I never ran a guide on my old bike either. The only time the chain might drop is when the chainring is really worn down and the narrow/wide tooth profile is no longer working effectively...
Here is a summary of all the upgrades I've done on the bike since picking it up back in February. It was pretty good out of the box but some things had to change.
Cranks - The standard E13 Cranks that come on the Rise have a habit of coming loose and then falling off mid ride. E13 tried to...
I have changed my method on this bike, I'm currently putting a new chain on every 500km, I have 3 chains in total, the one that came on the bike and I purchased 2 new chains the same.
I take the old one off at 500km, degrease it 100% then dry it and apply lube and store it away in a labelled...
I just put a 40mm riser bar on my Rise M10.
Being a shorter guy 170cm (5'7") on a Medium frame I found the front end a little difficult to lift compared to my old bike and it has caught me out a few times. For example, say you are going off a small drop at lower speed and normally I would just...
I ordered my M10 with upgraded Minion tyres front and rear and I regret it for where I ride. They are heavy and slow rolling, as soon as you hit that 25km/h speed it is very noticeable unless you mostly ride gravity trails, grip for days though.
I'm no electrical engineer so take this with a grain of salt but can the smaller battery found in the rise tolerate the higher amp draw required to run at 85nm or will you be cutting the battery life short?
I have an M10 MYO on order, upgrades with the order were:
Race Face R 31 carbon wheels.
Minion tyres front and rear, I'm not sure on the exact specs.
When the bike arrives I plan to change the grips, add some composite flat pedals and add some custom decals.
After I ride it I'll decide on...
I spent over 10 hours on there before finally placing the order on my bike. It's a great idea but settling on a colour combo did my head in.
In the end I went with matte speed silver and sky blue.
I've been running 34t on my mtb for the past 6 years, I can't imagine the need for a 32t for where I ride but everyone is different. I have not used a chain guide for the past 6 years either, with narrow wide technology it is not needed, that is my experience with Sram anyway drivetrain anyway.
