When I read Mountain Trike, I expected a bike more like a Bowhead.
I wasn't expecting a 3 wheel fat bike with triple clamp forks! That thing looks awesome.
I have found it's not just about the width, but it's about the upsweep and backsweep for total comfort and control.
I was on 780mm bars up until I got my first pair of Renthal Fatbars and then I found myself using 800mm width bars permanently.
Last two bikes had Fatbars fitted at 800mm and...
Jumped into the eWorld last week and so far I am absolutely stoked.
Initially took the beast for a shakedown road ride to get things how Iike them, then took it out on it's maiden trail ride yesterday.
Having come from a long-travel enduro bike with high-end components, I decided that I needed...
I'm curious as to how different it is running Di2 as opposed to plain old cable-actuated XT.
Does freeshift and autoshift really make that much difference?
I did so much research!
Been riding a 2011 (heavily modified/upgraded) analogue Giant Reign SX and wanted something that could give me a similar experience, but with a motor.
I have a few knee and hip issues and really suffer for a few days after a big ride, so was always going to go electric...
Having just made the leap myself, I have to say I am impressed with the Merida eOne-Sixty that I am now riding.
Not sure of availability or dealer support where you're from, but here in NZ, we have a good network of Merida dealers, so I am well catered for.
Overall, pretty stoked with my...
Just picked up my first eBike today.
Super stoked to be starting on a new adventure in my mountain biking journey.
Been riding MTB since the early 90’s and have had a fascination with e-bikes for a few years now.
New bike day!!
E160 700 - last year’s model on sale
EP6 motor.
Shimano rep unlocked speed restriction to 45kmh.
Looking forward to a trail ride this weekend.
Well after test riding it, I’ve now bought it.
Can confirm that even in the etube app it will allow up to 45hm/h.
I managed to get up to 48kmh on my first ride around the bike path.
When I test-rode a Merida with a new Shimano EP6 last week it had just been derestricted by the local Shimano rep to enable a top speed of 45kmh.
No special software or hardware - just the new firmware and a removal of the top speed restriction. All approved by Shimano apparently.
