Yes, only because the forks i wanted were only available in 170. difference is barely noticeable - flat corners feel marginally worse to turn in but i do wonder if its probably more of a confirmation bias thing going on in my head, not convinced i’d notice if it were a blind test.....:p

2021 230x60 fits the large frame fine with about 5mm to spare.

My reason for thinking its likely to be ok, is these shocks all start as the same (230x65) and are then spaced down according to the particular frame and travel requirements. So if you take the spacer out, i can’t think why the stroke would not work dueto a lack of internal clearance. External...

Not that particular shock but have done it on a fox dpx, same thing, just be careful when clipping it out its quite firm material

You can cut these off and increase travel, yes. Although see other threads for clearance issues on certain shocks/frame sizes when the stroke is longer than 57.5 (y)

Yeah any weight that moves the ‘spring’ is the sprung weight, any weight that doesn’t is unsprung - pretty much only the wheels on a bike are unsprung. i think the way the e bike moves the spring with all it’s additional weight must be a factor to be considered, it’s quite a ‘dynamic’ movement...

There will be a 2.5mm spacer on the shock shaft internally, open it up and snip it off. ( ps i’ve not done it on this particular shock but have done on others).

I’m going to get a steel freehub, likely for the hope hub wheelset I have. I’m not sure 240 hubs were built with ebike torque in mind. I’ll get the 11spd and that will give me plenty of options going forward.

They’re all boost already mate. Are hope pro 4’s ok string enough for e bike abuse?

Next stage is to decide which hub to convert to the 11spd shimano freehub. Took off the bontrager shimano spline freehub from the line30 wheel. The internals are pretty churned up, swarf and score marks. Cleaned out and looks serviceable but again not filling me with confidence for longevity...
