My current cassette is SRAM 11spd, I assumed I had to buy compatible. Did not realise that Shimano was compatible. It is cheaper, the SRAM XG1150 I currently have is £100 vs the SLX at half that price. And they are a direct replacement and fit hub etc?
I received the jockey wheels and fitted now, so far so good. They look great and put the original SRAM ones to shame - attached picture.
Realised chain was stretched so put on a new chain. Went for a ride and the chain was riding up over the cassette and slipping. Towards the end of the ride...
I always wash my bike down with garden hose (with head on it) after each ride, then store in warm garage, and oil up before each ride. I don’t user power washer.
This time of year, through the forests the mud is thick, see picture which I took when my gearing was making some terrible noises...
this is getting dangerous hanging out on here. Just had to buy a new GXP bottom bracket + chain + these jockey wheels all because I get the bike muddy. (Was properly muddy, but even so)
Great, my thoughts too re ceramic. I’ll buy the regular superstar component ones now and give them ago.
Now you say that about the pulley, i had noticed shifting gears had become harder, I hadn’t thought any more of it, but, now I’ll try and work it out.
[EDIT] BONUS: they are offering 20%...
Great, really appreciate the advice. I’ll get them and give them ago.
Did you go for regular or ceramic bearings, I prefer the price of non ceramic of course?
Hay Kenny, would be good to know how you got on with those superstar component ones?
I am in same issue as everyone else with seized up bearings on a GX 11spd and looking for a solution. I’ve tried swapping out bearings and the new ones lasted only one ride.
Almost half the price of the Hope...
