Frame size - do the same rules apply for EMTB...Size up or size down?

Like I said before, it's a fallacy/paradox to think you want a shorter wheelbase in order to make the bike easier to manhandle (easier to lift the front). To make the wheelbase shorter on an ebike like the Reign E+ it likely has to give up front end length, since they can only make the rear so...

Frame size - do the same rules apply for EMTB...Size up or size down?

Problem with long chainstays is that they need to be balanced by long front centers, else the front wheel weight bias is higher than others would expect from a normal enduro mtb. The front weight bias must be compensated for with technique. To hit a drop at low speed with a long chainstay bike...

How long before motors start incorporating gears?

Revonte is an interesting one in development. Wouldn't expect it too soon. Maybe some decent models in 2023?

E-Sommet VR on Order.... So, what do I need to know

Kicks out the front center another 20mm or so, lowers the grip height, steepens STA, lowers BB. I'd run cranks no longer than 165.

How many eBikes have you had/owned?

Still trying to find that one with the geo I want, at a good price. The best candidates aren't available in US (E-Sommet, Spectral ON). Still considering slapping on a mid motor kit on my bike but they don't recommend under-downtube mount. Been eyeing the Fezzari Wire Peak + angleset.

E-Sommet VR on Order.... So, what do I need to know

I'd consider a -2 angleset for it, if you got the small or med.

Got a taste of emtb... it affected me more than I expected.

This is my checklist for what I want an emtb to be designed around: For "balanced" weight distro, I want the CS and WB to match any one of these: 415mm CS, 1150mm WB 420 1170 425 1190 430 1210 435 1230 440 1250 445 1270 450 1290 455 1310 To get the front end long enough, I'd like to first...

Got a taste of emtb... it affected me more than I expected.

The first emtb I rode was a HaiBike 'nduro something. Was kind of weird how it was accelerating while going downhill, due to pedal kickback, but it was super fun. Totally kept it longer than the 1 hr I was alloted, going all the way to the far side to the bottom, and climbing back. Just didn't...

Finally a place where American based ebike riders can get together on FB

Even after Facebook was exposed, people still use it?

Got a taste of emtb... it affected me more than I expected.

I got to ride an emtb, but found that the geo was all wonky, with the front end being super heavy and OTB prone. I said it wasn't for me, but the pedal assist made me wonder why I was paying big bucks for cheap flimsy carbon parts to drop weight to get the same feeling. It got me to think what...
