I prefer external/easy swap/lockable battery. I won’t buy an integrated battery bike.
lockable - want to be able to stop for coffee/meals etc en route., bike gets locked, preferably within sight but not always possible. Don’t really want it falling out either.
removeable - bike...
Does it mention anything about motor rebuildability/spares availability. I’m an ex shimano motor fan (as they don’t seem to be very rebuildable, as I understand it still no commercially available rebuilders for them, happy to be proven wrong as I think it would benefit all owners) whereas Brose...
*edited, bodge below survived a 22 Mile xc(doddering old ecoplodder) ride. So for 2.99£ Inc postage for a metre of beading (see link a few posts above) you can’t really fault the vfm.
ye
fitted, easy to cut and slide in. Bike not ridden on a real ride yet, but had a quick bounce up and down...
Get a threaded rod or a long bolt , and wind in the new bearings (*do not put force on the inner race or seal) get a flat surface or a socket that fits the outer race exactly (can use old bearing with a washer on it etc)
so
Bolt head/[socket/washers/old bearing]/ new bearing <bolt thru both...
Good spot, yeah that’s shoddy, should be a rubber plug etc to protect edge of hole.
Ive cut a strip of innertube and managed to wedge it about 2cm into the arm via the hole underneath the cable and the rear end ofthe hole and then fold the other bit back along the arm and fixed it with a loop...
(*mine was 2017 but I suspect they’re the same) No, once swing arm off you can tap them out from opposite side (there is a central spacer between the bearings but once bolt is out it can be moved around) so you can get a flat punch on the inside of the bearing and tap round evenly and out from...
Topeak defender xc here ( with a perma fitted zippy on short mudguard rrp
)
DEFENDER™ XC1 / XC11
fyi - std 29 butcher tyres(so very limited clearance) and close fitting mudguards + the right (*or wrong) type of mud = wheel lock(*both wheels, totally and utterly)
luckily my previous ebike...
I’d like an easily removable but lockable batttery.
(*integrated battery - I say chaps, you see this bit that’s can go wrong and will deteriorate with age, well we’ve made it as hard as possible to replace)
home - battery inside, bike in garage , theft deterrent, can unplug without going back...
May not be related but my levo top jockey wheel seized after 350 miles, that impacted shifting, after an unsuccessful bearing regrease attempt I changed both for hope - noticeably improved shifting.
Might be an indicator trap (or whatever they’re called), not a trap but the floor is soft (like clay etc) and covered so they can work out what’s been there via the footprints
Fyi - remembered this , no idea if its any use.

I think there is an engine parameter relating to the angle that the motor is mounted on the bike that needs to be set, again not sure.
I’m using rrp front and rear but as the rear is only a short it wasn‘t saving my back/rucksack.
so I’ve added one of these topeak defender xc11 for 29 - just the rear

have a look at rv/motorhome/camper bike covers, or could you get someone to sew up a shower curtain, light tarp /etc in a sort of envelope shape...
