Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

No idea, but from my limited research, it seems like the Large & XLarge have more clearance.

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

On a medium- sized Rail, when I tried the Topaz 3, the piggyback was hitting the frame at about 50-60% of the travel.

    EMTB Lite

Currently have it on my 2020 Rail 9.7, haven't had a chance to ride any trails yet. But I can feel the difference even in my local city street riding, a lot more punchier than before.

Kiox Wheel size setting 9.9 owners or retrofitters

You’re right, but what I find is that Kiox doesn’t go higher than 91.37, when I measure my 29” x 2.6 , it’s about 92.35. Out of curiosity, when I connected my Intuvia, it was the same, so I assume the motor is limited on the total wheel circumference.

Just got a Rail 9.7 need advice

Tuning on my 9.7 suspension took some tweaking, the best advice given to me was to remove the front volume spacers and set sag to about 20-25%. Removing the volume spacers, help make it feel less harsh, if I remember correctly. I have considered upgrading the Yari, but decided to upgrade a DVO...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I would also suggest reaching out to the guys at DVO, I worked with Ronnie and he help work on settings on the D1 Boost and Topaz 3 from my previous eMTB. Everything recommended by him did the trick. From my experience with DVO suspension, that the switch can be flipped to firm and is still...

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

Looks close!, but since the spacer isn't installed, it just made it. What size Rail is that? Medium?

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I think you're right. From my experience with the DVO Topaz3, they actually was able to limit the stroke internal with a spacer.

    Kiox, Wheel Circumference with 29 x 2.6"

What's the upper tire limit of the Kiox? I noticed when trying to put in the correct wheel circumference, my calculations are larger. With the 29 x 2.6", I get 92.63", but in Kiox the limit is 91.37". I wonder how much of a differences it makes in assist levels and speed measurements. Does that...

Trek rail fork upgrades / extra thick crown

I swapped the Yari for a DVO D1, that I had to upcycled from 27.5 to 29, since it was on my previous EMTB. The fork doesn't look to off with a smaller crown. But what looks funny is the 26" bike that inherited the Yari with the oversized crown.

Trek rail rear shock upgrade ideas please

I tried installing a Topaz3 a few weeks ago, on a medium 9.7, the piggyback hits the frame halfway through the stroke. The Topaz2 isn't long enough, since the Rail requires a 230mm and the longest Topaz2 is 205mm. Unless you're going for shorter travel, or is the Trunnion longer (in general)...

    Review DVO Jade X

Nice write up @The Flying Dutchman, Im actually waiting on one, on the backorder list. I'm about your weight, what spring weight did you get? I was looking at the 600lbs spring, based on different online calculators.

Anyone over 240 lbs riding a Trek Rail?

There's a few differences, mostly looking on at the shift systems, I preferred SRAM over Shimano, especially since I already had the system on my other eMTB. And the besides the dropper and the weight, thought the weight on mine is about 50lbs, not the advertised 48.13lbs. The other major...

Anyone over 240 lbs riding a Trek Rail?

I hover at 247, maybe 260 depending on gear, been trying to minimize what I carry in general. Most bikes and components tend to have a limit of 250lbs from my experience and base specs numbers around a 175lbs rider. Either way, I'm currently on my second eMTB, a Trek Rail 9.7, mostly stock...
