The MGU is not too loud. In gear 9-12 it is nearly not hearable. In lower gears you hear it. But I would not say "loud".
Heavy? What does a deraillieur weight? and a chain? And a cassette? Plus a regular motor? And where is it all the drivetrain stuff placed? In the middle of the bike, for a...
Additionally the system offers a LONG LIFE charging mode, by pressing the light-button.
Charging stops at about 80% then, to reduce battery degradation.
Today I got an email from Pinion Support:
(Translated from german)
The Software-Release for "Auto Shift" update is planned for 24. Sept. 2024.
It includes a bugfix for the "shift error".
Next week a bugfix update will be released which fixes the " shift error" only.
Good to see that Pinion is...
I had the bike now on a few trails here on summer vacation in Ossiach Austria, ("Matchy Trail", "Pathy Trail", etc.).
It feels so handy and fat, connected to the ground, traction everytime & everywhere.
A few tree-rollover - works very nice.
And slicky roots, stones and muddy downhill paths are...
The new Hope Pro 5 hubs are installed there, in the rear in the powerful version for e-bikes. This means 54 engagement points instead of 108, but the locking blades are more robustly dimensioned.
The complete rear wheelset setup, taken from BOM:

The sprocket is made of steel.
I tested it with a magnet.
Only the sprocket cover with the mentioned "end ridges" is made of hard-plastic.
All Gates sprockets seem to be made of "stainless steel", at least the CDX ones which I have found on the Gates webpage
But the new one, which I have on my...
Nicolai calls it "ANTISKIP".
See official letter attached - sorry I own it only in german language.
The number of teeth are mentioned in the bill of material, screendump attached.
I think they call it "snubber", See here
The new rear sprocket contains "side guidance" instead of "middle guidance" compared to the old one. The belt is the same, I guess. The pictures show that the belt still has the nut in the middle, because the front sprocket still uses the "middle...
That's fine for me :) no worries.
I am 46, approximately 90kg. My fitness is medium, what I would like to call it. I run once a week, slowly. And I have at least one bike ride per week. Normally not in very high intense or extreme sportive. But I love to run and bike in every weather conditions...
Today I had a morning ride in the bavarian alps.
My first experience with the range of the bike, equipped with 960Ah battery:
Ride Start: 84%
30km / 800hm / 1Std 34min
Ride Stop: 31%
I did most of the way in FLEX mode and only the steepest parts in FLY mode.
I guess I did 90% in FLEX and 10%...
Update: my bike arrived on Monday :)
I had a 50km/600hm ride on the same day.
In one word: unbelievable!
I love it so much! It loves gravel, it is so stable in downhill, and powerful in uphill. It is really a new world of biking, for me.
One photo attached.

I have 178cm height and 80cm leg lengh. And 90kg.
After the testride with size L and M my choice was M.
Both bikes felt good, but my personal feeling with M was better. My backbone is a bit more up and less stretched with size M.
The Bike will...
