Yes I think it is a case of to little and to late. They should have launched this last March and be dammed with the unsold previous version. They need to be very careful with pricing or it’s going to be hard to move the nos, people just won’t see enough value in upgrading to this Gen 4.
the difference is sales slowed down a lot more last march than where they are today.

I paid £2200 second hand for the Kenevo, £350 for the X2 brand new via Merlin and already had the 38s (£670ish new via chain reaction) and the 29" Hunt wheel was from a MX wheelset that was £300 total new a few years ago.

My main point was that unless there's something like regenerative braking or something revolutionary hiding for the actual launch, the Levo looks meh and already outdated where as it was genuinely ahead of the competition for previous generations (y)
Take a look at what regenerative braking does in autos. No much energy added back and with current tech not something I'd want on a mountain bike for the inherent weight cost.

The problem is, this website is not an independent consumer site, or journalist source. It's an industry gatekeeper. So you're not going to get the truth here before the industry tells them it's okay. This website is supported by, and works for, the industry, not us.
I can't think of a site that is not in some way supported by the industry. The only exceptions are those "totally independent" and they have themselves to promote at the expense of objectivity.

That’s my point last March it would have had the wow factor, now today it’s OK but I don’t see anything revolutionary if anything some points are behind the competition. If anything one of its biggest plus points is the back up and support based on my past 4 S works.

Compared to Santa Cruz’s Vala—even with the 600 Wh battery—the numbers seem off. Where does that extra 1–1.5 kg come from, especially when comparing the S-Works and lower models to their Vala equivalents?

Got to have that frame storage and removable battery, need all the gimmicks they can think of to get sales. This is why do it all poser bikes like the Levo and Rail are not on my radar.

I still don't get the anti amflow sentiment. It's a bike, it's sold as a trails bike. By all accounts it does that well. It also has the highest power output to weight compared to any of the other motors.

It’s ugly, looks like a 5-10 year old frame design. I have a bin full of broken DJI products don’t trust the brand anymore. I put it in the poser bike category with the Levo and Rail.

The new Rail does look shockingly bad, imo .

I have a different opinion. Rail in size M and color Pennyflake, in my opinion looks great. The design is well thought out and consistent. These mudguards are great. That stripe on the tires is....

Color scheme is really nice, but I dont know why, I've never liked Trek frames, they have some strange curves
Few weeks ago I was in Specialized dealer to look at the new Comp Carbon 2025 and really loved that color, photos on specialized website have too much bright light. I am also curious about that new GLCMET S works color.

I thought in one of the reviews the chap said lots needed changing on it from stock? I think it looks rubbish so it’s a none starter for me I would rather have my 19 S Works Levo than that lump from Rail..

I was hoping for some of the really cool paint jobs that are on the current s works SL
Do/did they sell well? In my opinion these paint jobs are a little too much. And if you want to sell it you have to find somebody who´s really searching for it. I think these "Impasto" paint jobs are temporary fashion. If the trend is over you might get in problems finding someone who wants to buy it. I´ve hoped for a return of the more traditional and more simple paint jobs.

thing is, the amflow is designed so its as light as possible, but with flaws like combining a yoke with a trunnion shock. plus, the parts it comes with are not made for real life riders, only good for cushion loving boomers. if you put proper parts on the amflow, it is as heavy as comparable bosch bikes with enclosed battery. so nothing special. and if its nothing special, i rather have a frame from a company that has more experience
"i rather have a frame from a company that has more experience".........Well if your talking about the most defective motors, than Specialized wins hands down!!

Agreed, but it was more pointing out that if you went for the gen4 s-works for the fast charging, you could buy two whole bikes for the same price...
Ok all new Levo Gen4 bikes can fast charge, they just don't come with the fast charger. Second, yes you can buy a Levo gen 3 bike (comp alum) for 6100, and a Gen 4s-works for 13500.. so basically 2 bikes for one. But then remember the old s-works cost 15000 before the price drop, and has 1/2 the power of the new bike. A Comp carbon gen-4 costs 8k with 2x the power on the gen 3.
