Brake pad and rotor wear vs. rotor size

Yes, I figured this when I saw on the packaging that Galfer also makes MTB-specific pads. Then I must be burning through pads faster because I'm riding harder on my new bike. I guess that's a good thing (y)

Brake pad and rotor wear vs. rotor size

So I ordered the purple Galfers. I made sure to bed them properly. Already on the first day, they make all kinds of noises and they vibrate horribly! I don't think these brake pads are suitable for alpine mountain biking. I'm going to switch back to Shimano.

Orbea Rise or Trek Fuel EXE (i know again!) Buying advice

Does this matter if both motors have the RS tune?

Brake pad and rotor wear vs. rotor size

I own a Focus Thron2 with 203mm brake rotors and an Orbea Rise with 180mm brake rotors front and rear. I have a somewhat surprising observation: the Orbea burns through brake pads at an alarming rate. Rotor size Brake pads lifespan Rotors lifespan Focus Thron2 203 mm 1 season still good...

Orbea Rise or Trek Fuel EXE (i know again!) Buying advice

I'm not sure what you mean by the "age" of the motor. The EP6 is the same motor as the EP8.01 just using steel instead of magnesium housing - making it cheaper but heavier. The Orbea has more battery for the same weight. I think it matters - or you could get the Orbea with the smaller battery...

Got a Question: Why did you buy the Specific bike you bought?

It was heavily discounted (50% off). And that's why we ride Orbea Rise EMTBs. No but seriously. It was my second bike so I knew quite well what I was looking for: ±150mm travel, lightweight, long range. I looked with some envy at other people's Rises, so when it dropped to 50% off I pulled the...

    E-bike – £3500. Bit lost on choice!

Just buy a range extender for those days. Or two even. I have a full fat and a lightweight. I get 2x further with the lightweight. And it's also twice as fun on the way down.

    EM interference from high-voltage wires (EP801 / SW-EN600-L)

TL;DR: is there a way to restart the EP801 system without connecting it to a computer? I have a curious case. Yesterday, I rode underneath these high-voltage wires (Orbea Rise / EP801 / SW-EN600-L). The combination with foggy weather caused interference on the wires of my remote, which...

Charging Orbea Rise with standard Shimano charging cable?

When I arrived at one of the charging stations on my local mountain, to my great surprise, none of the provided charging cables fit my Orbea Rise. One of the cables was labeled "Shimano 2" and looked like this: Is there an adapter I can use to charge my bike at such a charging station? They...

Upgrade Rise or Buy Kenevo SL or buy Transition Relay

Can you tell us a bit more about why you are interested in a slacker and longer travel bike? This is important information to answer the question. At first sight, you could squeeze quite a lot more out of your bike by replacing the fork with a Fox 36. Burlier tires also make a huge impact...

    E bike... Alps

You have to include the rider weight (the brakes are stopping both the bike and the rider). 14 kg analog bike 90 kg rider & gear 104 kg total 100% 25 kg e-bike 90 kg rider & gear 112 kg total 108%

    E bike... Alps

You'll be fine. People take full fat EMTBs on the lifts all the time. Yes, it is more clumsy on some lifts, but don't let those couple of minutes of clumsiness get in the way of a great vacation on your EMTB.

    Orbea Rise low battery "mode"

I noticed something peculiar during a long day on my 2023 Orbea Rise H10. I spent the first half of the day in the bike park and depleted my (500 Wh) battery to about 60%. The second half of the day, I biked up a 2200m peak. Before starting this climb, I attached the range extender to the...

Getting an EMTB into the back of a car

Take the battery out before loading it in the car.
