    2026 Giant Reign E+ Megathread

Yeah, as I mentioned above I work in Giant dealers and there's been no word of Yamaha stopping supplying motors. I did wonder about that as well though back when they announced that they were pulling the plug on their own brand ebikes but definitely no indications of it happening at the moment.

    2026 Giant Reign E+ Megathread

I'm on approximately 4500 km on my '22 E+1 and have had no issues with motor, battery (still at 94%), software etc and I live in Scotland where it's always wet. My only issue was the frame cracking above the motor (as seen in the other thread on here). It was replaced pronto by Giant UK and...

    2026 Giant Reign E+ Megathread

I'm still riding and enjoying my 2022 Reign E+1 but I do keep thinking about a newer bike. The Amflow is interesting but I honestly don't feel the need for more power than I already have. Most of my riding is done in the lower three power settings anyway so I feel that a lighter bike would be...

    Waterproof winter gloves

My problem with winter gloves is that you can have warm, waterproof and non-bulky in gloves but not all three together. As I've mentioned earlier on this thread, I hate gloves with bulky palms so I've had to pretty much stick with 100% Briskers and accept if it gets really cold or wet (or both)...

    Waterproof winter gloves

I've not tried them but 45nrth stuff is usually really good (but really expensive).

    Waterproof winter gloves

Yes, they're excellent at keeping your hands warm. I've used them a lot in Scotland where it often tends to be wet as well as cold and although my hands have been wet they've never been cold. I use my ultra thin TLD summer gloves under them as I just like wearing them but bare hands would be...

brakes: Saints vs XT M8120 vs Zee (all 4 piston)

The rotors should be okay but I used the Magura hose not the Shimano one. It's really easy to do though so don't be put off thinking it'll be difficult (assuming that you're reasonably competent on the wrenches). I used MT5 calipers and hoses with M8120 calipers and the results have been really...

    Mudguards

Not my experience at all. It works really well on Giant Reign E.

    Mudguards

I've used various brands and my current favourite set up is RRP front, SKS Mudrocker rear. They're very effective and easy to fit plus they don't look too terrible (although all mudguards are ugly IMHO).

RockShox Coil Shock - what compression tune for Reign E?

No, not yet. The X2 is still sitting in the bottom of my spare parts box. I'll send it off at some point to have a service though. It'd be interesting to stick it back on again after I've got used to the coil shock and see how it feels. I haven't ridden that much over the last five weeks. I had...

RockShox Coil Shock - what compression tune for Reign E?

It's great, not massively better than the X2 that was on before but I know that this one won't start squelching and need constant maintenance. Adds a fair chunk of extra weight to the bike though if that's something that bothers you.

    Smaller chainring?

This is the plastic panel/bashplate from under my motor. I recently completely rebuilt my Reign so had the opportunity to have a good look at the various bits. You can see the obvious damage caused by decking out on logs, roots, rocks etc. there is a hole punched through it but it seems to...

    Smaller chainring?

I managed to find a Praxxis steel 34t when I was looking to gear down, it was heavily discounted though so maybe it was end of line/end of stock. It was identical to the OEM chainring fitted to my Reign E+1 other than being two teeth smaller.

    Smaller chainring?

I suspect that 32t will be the sweet spot for me as well. I honestly can't see the point of big gears when the assistance cuts around 15mph, does anyone routinely ride above 15mph off-road other than downhill (when the motor cut is less significant)?

    Smaller chainring?

I dropped down from the OEM 36t to a 34t soon after getting my bike (2022 E+1) to get more clearance. I ride a lot of tight techy trails with rooty and rocky drop offs that are too slow to pop off so have to be rolled and I was constantly decking the 36t chainring out. I imagine all the force...
