New kid on the block.. Been on my Specialized Stumpjumper since 2016 and am about to begin my eMTB journey here very soon, I'm super stoked. I quickly had to learn about rear spring shocks, had no clue how complex these things can be. One size does not fit all.

Welcome to the forum (y)
Thanks. I've ordered my 2nd spring just in case the first one received doesn't work out..lol. I really don't like bottoming out or high sag rates in particular. Have some tools coming in to do the job right, it's a job to remove the bearings just to exchange coil springs, Worst fear is trashing my new bike before I even ride it, lol. I think I'll be alright. Waiting for the delivery is the worst of it really. I got a email from UPS that it was gonna be delivered next day. That was last Friday :( Still not here.

Lot to unpack here..

We finally got some parts in to get this bike going. I only run tubeless, especially here in the desert. Thorns everywhere. And I had redid the rear tire, redid the tape to tubeless tape, slapped in the rubber inner tube to fill it back up to flatten the tape down good and tight, removed the rubber tubed and filler her up with sealant and done. I know what some of you are thinking right now. The rims are tubeless ready dude... yeah, I figured that out just before starting on the front tire. 😐

We then finished off with the rest of the project, but not without it's hiccups. i didn't have the freakn tool to take the top cap off the front fork shock... SOB. How am I gonna add some tokens!? Of course the tools I had were outdated. Crud. Quick (20 minute) trip to the closest bike shop, and "Kyle" there, real cool guy, helped me find the tool I needed. Found it in the DISCOUNT BASKET!! :) We got that taken care of. We have three tokens in there now. I desperately wanted to swap out the coil spring from the lower shock.. but my bushing tool I ordered got delayed.

To my first ride on the Decoy.. It was sobering to see that in eco and trail you still have to put some pedaling to move the bike, your gonna get a sweaT GOING...lmfao.. yeah, what was I thinking. I had a really good ride, ventured into the advanced territory of my local trail system. Climbs and tech was very doable. You don't feel the 50lb weight of this bike till you get off for a breather. Yes I needed a few breathers. On one techy section I wasn't sure the angle was right, for a sharp right off camber turn on a down... I hesitated... and then flap! Fell off the bike sideways and landed on a desert bush, left shoe flying off. Thank god my bike was ok. Was a little shaken and almost forgot how to use the little controller on this bike. Thought I might have damaged it because the battery was not working anymore..lol. Took a break and used the Shimano app to see if I could find some help and boom... I was just pushing the wrong buttons! Time to go home. When I finally got to the bottom I thought, you know, I never really tried this Turbo mode.... SHAZAM!!! Wow... this thing turned into a totally diffrent bike!! I can FLY! Went back up for another lap.

Bottom bracket rattles a bit but for the monies I really can't complain to much. I dropped in a 500lb coil, was really easy to do. And thinking I might try the 450lb coil I have. Little stiff back there on the down.. but so perfect on the up. Contemplating letting it break in a little or just swap it for the 450Lb. First world problems..

Found the sweet spot for the rear shock, it nows runs better than the front shock. Not really fair as we upgraded to the Super Deluxe Ultimate. Worth every penny. Running a 450lb coil and it's BUTTER. Finished a nice run up here in the Woods.
