Hey considering buying the WILD FS H30 only thing i'm not keen on is the 500wh battery, which will be fine most of time but I may be tempted to get the extra battery.

Which battery is it that you can add to it?

Is it fully set up to take the extra battery without modification. Only plus of the smaller battery is a bit of a saving in weight.

Many thanks

The bosch powertube 625wh battery will fit inside in place of the 500wh, but you have to alter the bracket that the battery clips into to the 625wh battery position, and then move it back to the 500wh position when you want to use the 500wh battery again.

You can get a spacer (not from orbea, but trek do one) that extends the physical size of the 500wh battery so that it is the same dimensions as the 625wh battery, and then you can swap between them without messing with the battery mounting.

Orbea also sell an external range extender battery mounting kit, which can be bought aftermarket if it wasnt specced when you bought the bike, that allows you to have two batteries mounted at the same time, but it needs the config of the motor software updating by a dealer to enable it.

Thanks for the info is this the correct battery?

Just trying to decide between the orbea with a 500wh battery or a cube stereo with the 625wh.

Thanks

The orbea blue paper says the external battery has to be the 500wh bosch powerpack battery

Orbea Wild FS H30 2021
New to this forum and E-MTB;s in general. I bought a Orbea Wild FS H30 2021 with standard 500Wh with choice to upgrade to 625Wh batttery if required. Looking at the bluepaper documents its suggests that the motor needs to be removed and the motor cables disconnected to allow the fixing plate to be detached from the bike. Any advice on this matter would be most appreciated.

yes, thats right, you need the move the lower battery mount further down the mounting plate in order to allow the longer 625wh battery room to fit in.

You can then buy this spacer (Moustache bikes ba kit25a battery extension for use bosch powertube b (ridewill.it) ) to fit to the 500wh battery, which will make it the same length as the 625wh, then you can just swap between the batteries without having to adjust the battery mounts on the bike.
