Hi folks. I wish to swap out rear QR axle for a non QR axle. The current axle is:
181mm x 12 with 1.0 thread pitch and 13mm thread length.
The closest options I can find are from Bergtec. They have two options, both of which are not exactly the same as the Whyte. One is for Nukeproof and one is for Santa Cruz. Both have correct thread pitch.
The Nukeproof is as follows:
180mm x 12 and thread length is 13mm (same as Whyte)
The Santa Cruz is as follows:
182mm x 12 and thread length of 15mm
So Nukeproof is 1mm short on total length but thread length is same. The Santa Cruz is 1mm too long and thread length is 2mm longer.
The other difference is the Nukeproof appears to have a smooth slip washer and the Santa Cruz appears knurled. Santa Cruz is also 1mm wider bolt head.
I think the Nukeproof one also looks better for UDH.
Sorry for length of post but would like to know which I should go with.
I have enclosed diagram of each from Begtec site as well as pic of current axle.
