Which Levo? 2019 Levo Carbon Comp or 2020 Levo Comp

Hi All,

Thanks for all the amazing info that you have provided me with. I now have a choice to make. I can get a 2019 Carbon comp with a extra 500wh battery for £4949 or I can get the 2020 for £4859. What is your advice and do these look like reasonable prices?

2020 Comp for me, 700wh battery and lyrik's, what's not to like? A single 700wh battery is more use to me than two 500wh's, and if you insist you can pick up another 500wh battery for around £400, try locating a cheap 700wh battery..
No doubt you might be able to find more discount if you really tried, but 10% ain't bad for a bike that only been out a couple of months.

Thanks Guys, they are from Tredz. The Lyriks and the 700wh was also pushing me to think that way but wanted to ensure that the Carbon wasn't a big difference which considering its an e bike and already heavy has very little effect.

The carbon versions are no doubt more flowing to look at, and may have an advantage in frame strength, but your hardly hearing of ali Levo's snapping. I had the choice of Carbon comp and don't regret getting the Ali one for a second.

I also have to ask... have you not got any local bike shops to you, you could use? Your profile says your based in the big smoke but Tredz are Cardiff/Swansea. You may have noticed that Levo though a fantastic bike are not exactly trouble free, and posting/visiting wales to get it fixed may leave you with either no bike for a period or a bill that starting to negate your savings. Even the much lauded Berkshire cycles is closer to you than Tredz....

10% discount on 2020 Comp is not really a good discount, you should try to find a dealer which can offer you more like 15-20%, for example www.extremevital.com had 2020 Comp with -25% discount but promotion on their site just finished, maybe you should contact them and ask for an offer ...

I got a 20% discount on a 2020 expert from Specialized Concept Store in Chester by asking.

Cheers Guys, I will keep looking and I have emailed Berkshire bikes. Is the warranty not covered at any specialised dealer as my nearest dealer is Beyond Mountain bikes near Cranleigh but they are not the cheapest by a long way. Test rode one last week and love it so now doing the price shopping!

Yes, but 'good will' will extend further to customers who bought their bike from the shop... your roughly 45min (going by google) from Berkshire bikes, if nothing else (like checking all your local spesh dealers) ring them even better go see them, emails asking for your best price is more than a little impersonal (IMO) & don't always get the best responses

I agree and wouldn’t normally email but most are shut at the moment and it’s back to work for me shortly so will chase with visits in the coming weekends.

2020 comp all the way, the carbon makes f all difference to your day to the reality of living with the bike, but the spec and extra battery on the Comp will

I never even considered the 2020 as just too much cash and I don’t need a 700w battery for where I usually ride (Surrey Hills) 700 battery ok if all your mates have them otherwise your ride lengths will be limited by others with the more common smaller batteries but you’ll always be carrying the extra weight around.

Good point, I did the same, got a much bigger discount on a 2019 Carbon Comp than I could get on a 2020 alloy Comp. I was told (don't know how true) the differences are colours, forks and battery. The price paid means I could upgrade the battery or fork at some stage and still pay less than the 2020 model. I'm new to emtb's and not an expert rider by any definition, I just know its a joy to ride, so I would not know a 'better' fork if I rode one, and as Laland, 500w is fine for me at the moment.

The main reason I went for the 2019 was the carbon frame, I have no idea how different the alloy feels, I preferred the look of the carbon - call me carbon tart if you like - but I love it!

exact same decision I made a couple of months ago.. carbon comp from Berkshire came up on a good deal, otherwise it would have been a 2020 comp..

I really wanted to go to Berkshire, but I couldn't get transport. They seen the place for all things Turbo/Kenevo, their dedicated ebike shop looks great too.

Personally had that same dilemma but went 2020 expert in the end cus I can mainly ?, but 2 500w seem ideal however changing battery/ carrying a spare around, go for the 2020 all day long.

Went for the Red. Not been up the hills for a long time and am looking forward to getting fitter with the bike. Only thing that I'm looking at now is to protect the frame either with invisiframe or Heli tape. I have to say that I went for the Levo thanks to Rob and this forum as it gave me faith in the support that I would have but also that it was worth buying local and paying a bit more for a Specialized due to the after care. Thank you all and I'll post some pics of my first ride when I pick it up.

Nice, I got mine to get fitter too, Robs review and this forum having a great influence on my decision also, absolutely love it.

I fitted an Invisiframe, took hours, but well worth it, can't see it! Enjoy
