I found the old shifter fits better for me as well, the new bracket for the Pod I could not get in a good place with my Magura MT7I was able to get all of the parts from Brands Cycle in NY. Great people, great prices. 104 BCD chainring, chain, cassette, and derailleur. I re-used my AXS paddle shifters (I prefer them to the new pod shifters).
A good reason to go with the 36T chainring is drivetrain wear. According to SRAM, for every two teeth you add to the chainring you can increase the lifespan of the components by approximately 50%.Though I'd personally stick with the 34T chainring unless you have a reason to go to the 36T. Note that the SRAM chain length calculator will be correct for either the 34T or 36T though.
I ran 120 links with a 36T in both low and high, no problems.Only catch on the chain length is if you want to run the 36T and in the low setting it shows you need 120 length vs the 118 length for the 36T in the High setting. So I cut mine to 118 and if I want to run low I have to switch to the 34T chainring.
I followed the app and it listed 118 for when I input High setting, it was until a day after that I thought about running it in low and the app then showed 120I ran 120 links with a 36T in both low and high, no problems.

A bit of a stretch to press it. Do you have a picture of it setup?Throw away the matchmaker clamp. Immediately. Horrible ergonomics. Get the AXS-specific clamp with the proper offset, and the Magura clamp. Links below. You'll thank me later.

NOOOOOOO! Don't do it. Any kind of matchmaker/combined clamp is a compromise. Use separate clamps.I thought about something like this - but that doesn’t seem to work either! I’d like so see the setup too!

Ah - I thought you somehow had a solution to the new POD AXS controller with Magura. For me, the Magura matchmaker with the AXS paddle worked ok.Here ya go. This allows me to move the individual components freely and independently to get a perfect setup.

Agreed, the Infinity clamp works really well on the new POD's.The separate mounts work even better. ;-)
What brake levers do you have? I just can't get the infinity clamp into a suitable place with the Magura levers. It needs an adjustment in the middle so you can either bend it closer or further away.Agreed, the Infinity clamp works really well on the new POD's.

I'm going to play about with it tonight and see if I can get a better option.
I use SRAM Codes. Maybe I was just lucky as they fit perfectly on the inside of the brake clamp. I've used matchmaker mounts for years, always liked the clean looks and the placement of the shifter was fine with both mechanical and AXS shifter.What brake levers do you have? At first no, I thought I didn't like the ergonomics and they felt a bit cheap! After using them on a couple of rides I then went back to the original controllers, it was then very evident why the POD's were better in almost every aspect. They have a far more positive feel to the buttons and it's almost impossible to accidently shift the gear by knocking the controller, something I did frequently on the originals.Do you like the pods? I tried them and returned them. The paddle version of the older AXS shifter just "feels" more natural to me.
