What's the least you've got out of a battery?

On a fairly difficult off-road route I normally get between 20 - 28 miles out of my battery (depending on the hills). I am 120kg, plus I carry a 5kg pack which includes spare battery, so this is not a good start for battery life. I'm riding a CUBE 160 AT and run my tyres at 32psi. I did a ride on Exmoor at the weekend which nearly killed me. The route starts from Minehead Harbour and climbs up to Selworthy Beacon, down into Luccombe up to Ley Hill, down into Horner Valley and up again to Stoke Pero then up even more to Dunkery Beacon. A nice rocky descent before a final climb to Wootton Common. Distance was 25 miles, height climbed was 4380ft, time was 2hr 40mins. I was in eMTB mode for all of it.

My battery (which is new and has done 250 miles so far) died after only 14 miles! I did the remaining 11 miles using only 20% as it was mostly downhill.

My eMTB is getting me riding places I never would have considered, but this route was a real test of fitness even with the assistance. Had to push the bloody thing out of Horner Valley which took me about 30 minutes. Legs and lungs were on fire. Still a good technical route if you are in the South West - link below.

Got 27 miles from my 504 battery yesterday, about 3800 elevation was quite a bit of climbing on dusty Shale, and roots could get more as Trail felt a bit too much tbh.

This ride drained my 52v 520wh battery on my any road bike.

Flat ground flat out pedaling in a 140" gear with no wind 1000w front hub motor, actually legal wattage here in the state of Oregon, but the speed not so much:devilish:.

12 miles on shimano, is the least for me and im only 65kg. As discused on other threads, it's more about the elevation and I average about 3500 feet climb on a full charge, in trail mode. I keep 2nd battery in the van rather than carry it and this works well for us most of the time. We usually ride enduro style trails.

Sounds fair enough. I know the area you rode too.
As above. range has very little to do with the distance you ride, and far more to do with elevation, terrain and rider weight.
You're 35kg heavier than me and I wouldn't expect anymore than 4000-4600ft of ascent from a battery unless I only used eco (Which I feel kinda defeats point of having an Emtb).
FWIW the shortest ride I've used an entire battery for was (to the point the battery died) only around 10miles and 3900ft. but I did that ride in just over an hour. Using boost to hammer all the way up a steep (and soggy and unridable on a normal mtb in places) ~1000ft climb 4 times to ride old DH/Enduro tracks.

More info in respect of mine this thread. how many hours do you ride? - EMTB Forums I'm the opposite of Gary, and want to gain the maximum distance from my riding, using the least amount of assistance possible whilst still sustaining a comfortable cadence and ride. My rides whilst in the alps for example, would soon be over if I was to use higher than necessary power settings. If I'm being lazy during a local evening ride, I might use a level of assist that requires little pedal pressure for maximum gain, but as said, that is if I want to be lazy.

May I make a suggestion @EddieJ ?

only kidding... I know fine well how much more accessible certain trails in the Alps are with an Ebike.

I generally use my normal bikes for longer rides and group rides.
My Emtb was mainly used for solo self centred rides of 2-3hrs max.

I have a Fantic Integra with 630ah battery if i run in boost and sport mode i can get 13 miles and 5700- 6200ft of assent i weigh 190-195lbs on average. My local tails are chunky, steep and i am not capable of climbing them in less then the top two power settings. As these trails are OHV single track not mtb trails.
My Levo wouldn’t go more then 9 miles on these trails on one battery, my primary reason to switch to a bike with larger battery and better climbing ability and stop having to carry a pack with a battery in it
