I put 2 layers of Helitape on that area of my Stumpjumper. I had the giant Mudhugger on for 1 winter… and the helitape genuinely looks like someone has spent 5 mins on it with an orbital sander! Those things are vicious!!!

Used helitape with large Mudhugger rears last winter, helitape is crap. Which is why switched to double layers of Gorilla tape. All good now, just leave the Gorila tape on all year. Function before fashion.

Sounds like fun! Keep in mind when you buy a bosch motor from a third party seller, it may first need to be configured (programmed) for your specific bike by a bosch dealer/LBS. There are lots of parameters to set up for the motor to function correctly. LBS would start by uploading your bike's original container file (CCF) which comes from the bike manufacturer.
The ebay seller does this for $80, I just swapped the motors and the kiox recognized it as second bike, ebike connect app does the same. rode the bike this weekend and fell…
In love 😍 it consumes more battery, since it gives support for more time.
Not much difference on steep climbs, but on mellow uphill, like 4-6%, I can reach 36-38 km/h, on sport mode, on flatlands with strong headwind on the way back home riding at 45 km/h is oh so sweet.

Love these guys, my second set for the new bike. Best of both worlds, clipped in when cruising and flats for when I’m getting ready to crash 😎

I used these (or perhaps an older model) about 5 years ago when I ran clipless shoes.
I swapped them for the FUNN Mamba pedal, which is much the same idea, but has excellent grip on the non clipped side.

Best of both worlds... clipped on on fire roads and simple descents. Unclipped when riding terrain you're unsure of and might need to pop a foot down at short notice. In the end, I swapped to a grippy pair of flat pedals, after having a couple of 'incidents' where I didn't manage to unclip in time 😂

I’m still waiting on SRAM to get their stuff together and actually make some spare parts. The delivery date on the tiny part I need just changed to mid December now!

The one job i'm happy to pay someone else to do.
It’s super therapeutic sliding the bubbles / water out… but it takes a lot of time / patience to get it right. I did my latest bike over the course of 3x 2+ hour shifts! Just make sure you do it before the bike has been ridden, as a few small grains of sand / dirt make it much harder to get a bubble free finish!

Casettes on both wheelsets were starting to shift like crap and I broke my chain for the second time this weekend. So.. the new cassettes and chain I was saving for the winter overhaul got put on early. Brake pads were in dire need of replacing as well so some Uberbike race matrix units got slid in.

Good as new now she is!

Picked up a Shut the Fuck Up guide for the Norco vlt fattie as well.

Because will have to change our Trek Rail chains over the winter just bought a couple of Shimano XTR chains which were 37% off RRP. At that price they're the long term cheapest option for Shimano 12 speed chains.
