What Cable for Kind Shock (KS) E-30i Dropper Post?

Busily mouthing off to someone this morning about how I'd always preferred hydraulic actuated dropper posts because cables have a habit of snapping too darned often, but how I was now a convert because the KS dropper works so well.

Actuated the lever to demonstrate and noticed that the cable was frayed with only a couple of strands still fastened into the lever

Am I right in thinking that the cable is a standard Shimano gear shifter cable?

It was. Took a whole 5 minutes to change. Only 2 strands left, so I wasn't a moment too soon. It looked like a faulty cable join.
