To the opening poster. You have the wrong understanding of the battery.

the battery has a capacity... like a fuel tank size. this is measured in Watt Hours (wh). The power that the motor can give out is measured in Watts. A the battery gets older and more used it loses a little of the capacity, only up to 20%, and that is a very extreme example. Most Ebike should tell you the condition of the battery in the electronic display. I could write more bu my iPad is playing up since the latest software update.
