Where ever
I just tried to upload three photos, one uploaded and the other two came up with this symbol below. Any idea what went wrong. It has happened before and other times I can upload photos fine.

I’ve seen and heard of this happening before. The moderators of this forum are probably having a good laugh at our expense. They might say things like; Wrong format, too big a file, you reached your limit, your pictures aren’t worthy …blah blah blah. They’re messing with us.

Anyways, try again from scratch. jpeg. Works for me.

I think the site has an upload file size limit of about 5mb. Now your phone has so many megapixels, the files are bigger and bigger.

I’m on an iPhone and made a “shortcut” to resize my photos. I click on the photo, and choose “resize photos”. It asks me how many horizontal pixels I want, and generally I find 2500 gives a decent image, but it comes in under 5mb and always uploads.

I did this according to @p3eps instructions with a little modification. Now it is possible to share pictures, but the pictures become dull

I used to find on my previous phone that it dulled them down a little. Nothing wild, but it definitely made it duller. I could fix it with a little tweaking if I wanted though - and generally the photos were going on a forum, so no big deal.

I’m now on an iPhone 16 Pro… and it doesn’t seem to make any difference to the colour when I reduce them. Probably down to iOS 18 rather than the actual phone though?

I have the same phone and the picture quality clearly deteriorates considerably.
I tried picture width 2000 because the end result was accepted by the forum.

2500 horizontal for me every time.
I’m sure there must be apps or utilities specifically for resizing… but the shortcut does me fine purely for forum uploads.

Another trick is to email yourself the pics, and you can choose if you want them to be high, medium, low quality.

Some phones don’t send at all 🤷‍♂️

I’m about to upgrade to the iPhone 16, so I wonder if the size of pics will be too large. Maybe there’s a way to reduce the pixels. Or maybe it’s just an extension thing?

You can make the camera take 12 megapixel photos instead of the default 24 megapixels in the settings… but I’d rather have good quality photos for things that I might want to zoom / crop.
