Levo Gen 2 Upgrade rear mech from stock Levo FSR

As my birthday is coming up and the wife wants to buy me something, but has balked at £600+ for a RS lyric fork, I'm kinda thinking a rear mech upgrade from the humble NX might be nice.

What's worth replacing it with? Should it be both mech and shifter or just a nicer mech? I always did find the shifts a bit clunky right from the start.

Yes, NX shifter is terrible and change poorly without sensitivity. If you’ve been kind, ask for both as a gift ?
I'm a Shimano guy, but don't know does Shimano work with your cassette. Otherwise, I recommend the Shimano XT

GX was standard on the 2020 Turbo Levo and works really well. The big advantage over Shimano is the button holding the arm back so removing the wheel is very easy without needing to touch the chain. I now remove both wheels to get in the car and find it very straightforward - would never have bothered with my previous XT mech. Bought one a few months back for £50.

So, GX is next level up but worth going any higher, say up to £180s worth?
Its 11 speed, so I guess any thing "Eagle" won't work as those are 12 speeds

You need to change rear mech and shifter so GX 1x11 long cage plus shifter will cost your other half about £135. XX1 plus shifter would be close to double that.

I have had gx on one bike and xx1 on the other
To me there was no difference in feel or shifting quality between gx and xx1

However GX is a massive upgrade in feel and shifting quality from NX

I would ask her to get you a Gx shifter and mech

oh yea, stock levo.. rather have a secondhand affordable lyrik then any other upgrade I think

If there's barely any difference it would seem foolhardy to spend so much on an XX1 pair "just cos"

for that kind of money youre in ZEB territory...
yea I get it mate, I wanna upgrade constantly but my problem is the wife always says yes.. then I gotta control myself

GX Eagle derailleur will work well with GX 11speed shifter in 11 speed setup. Have it on my 2020 Levo Comp after I bent the original derailleur.
It doesn't cost much more than the 11speed, offers a higher range (>=46t) and is one piece already there for 12 speed upgrade. I use it with the Sunrace CSMS8 11-46 cassette.

The fork will for sure the better investment.

You dont need to but it upgrades the shifter.
( ps....In what way is going 12 speed an upgrade??)
