Hi all, I've a new 180RS V3 and wondered peoples thoughts on whether the upgrade is worth doing.

Or indeed, any other units/suggestions welcome.

The Kiox is in my opinion almost useless. It's best feature is knowing how much battery you have left as a percentage.

In fairness, the value of the battery percentage can be significant. On a lark I went up the far side of local mountain during a lunch ride this week. Because I hadn't prepared for that big of a ride and didn't have a whole lot of time, I was running out of water and battery power and needed to keep a really close eye on my consumption during the ascent to know if I could summit or abort and go around through town. It was fine but I wouldn't want to try that with the vagueness of a five bar charge indicator.

My riding buddy changed his Purion to Knox and wished he‘d done it sooner, he gets so much more info than he did before. I’d say it’s worth it if you want more data and a better battery meter.

I just did mine, mainly because spending ~£90 to replace the broken purion seemed pointless. But i wanted the more precise battery % and wanted to get a better idea of how much power i was putting into the rides relative to the motor to try and use it as a fitness tool over winter.
