If you look at the forth pic there is the view in the cave. I keep a light on the bike all year around because I get out and come back after dark quite a bit. It’s a cave that is closed from October till April for a bat and a frog. The first time I was there was before I carried the light and I didn’t have anything with me. When I went back a few weeks later it was closed. I’ll be there in April. We were just there a few weeks ago and that’s my girl heading in so you can see it’s gonna be fun and tight for me.

I found this deer skull on the trail. It had been picked clean and there were no other signs of the carcass anywhere nearby. My guess was animals had carried off the rest. Getting it back was fun. I tried it on my backpack, but eventually entangled it amongst my cables on the bars. It caused quite a stir riding into the car park.
You need to make them into a set of handle bars!

I played hockey here when I was a kid like 40 years ago and haven't been by here in probably 30 years. Use to play basketball in the field behind me in this photo. My dad also played old timer hockey here. It's also the beginning of one of the local trail/bike paths. At first I didn't even recognize it. Then..... oh ya I remember this place. It's about 10 minutes by car from where I grew up and more than doubled that from where I live now by car.
Bike turning the local area where I grew up gives a perspective you can't get driving around in a car.
Lots of "oh I remember that place..." and "I didn't know that was there..." and of course "That's new!"

Sadly the lower jaw had gone missing, so no chance of gripping the fork steerer. Using it to hang trophies on the wall was the best use that I could find for it.You need to make them into a set of handle bars!
Every credit to the Deer, it looks like it had taken out a serious number of bikes before it died !
We haven’t got the history that other places have but there are some remnants of the old logging days. Roads, bridges, trails, Sawblades, cables ets. Even an old Bulldozer, burnt ski lodge and log bridge.

How knackered must that bulldozer have been to just be abandoned like that? Or maybe the cost of retrieval exceeded the value? How do you tow a bulldozer? Looking at where it was, it looked inaccessible to a low loader.
It been there a long time. Don’t know how old it could be but it was just abandoned a long time ago. It’s way up there and only accessible by hikers or MTB now. There are a few trails leading further up but I found a secret trail right behind it. It’s a destination now that’s difficult to get to.
Found this inside a pile of bricks.
Bricks were in the shape of a pyramid. Looked inside and saw a container. Opened the container and found a plastic baggie. Inside the baggie was a pencil and small booklet.
I added my name and date.

Haha. That was awesome. I hid the one I found and went back for it. I was a few miles from home and took a bag back. It hasn’t changed much from the pic due to the weather here. I will clean it up and hang it in the wall. Great find.
Yup ! That's him, a pretty rare photo though, normally he's at least adorned with something spangly. Can't help himself.

I am back in Germany after being gone for 11 years. We are about 3 hrs south from where we lived last time. One weekend I am gonna drag my bike back up to the old trails I rode back then and see how much they have changed.

awesome find. A few years back when I was hunting in Wyoming we came across a old house with just the chimney standing. I wish I knew the history of it all. Thanks for posting

Kingdom Trails? Are eMTBs permitted now?
Not sure of the trail name but this was up on Burke Mountian,BC. Used to be called Dollar Mountian years ago. Had to push the eMTB a ways but any bikes are allowed. If you can get there. Past the Bulldozer the trails lead to some small lakes. Hiker-friendly though.

Ah, the other Burke Mountain. The Kingdom Trails are near Burke Mountain, Vermont in the USA.

Sad thing is that that bulldozer would dissolve away to nothing quicker than the plastic crap that people leave on the trails.
I think that was one of the early "IKEA" houses. Looks like it was supplied with the usual instructions and the buyers just gave up half way through construction.
Not exactly treasure as such but we came across this at Fairhaugh in the Cheviot Hills ..any ideas ?
