This may have already been discussed but it seems that in the UK at least they are not going to put up with the old "off road use only" shtick any more without additional approval.

I am unsure however how all this heat is coming down on eBikes in a part of the world where HyperCars are put on an alter......

This is connected to e-bikes that provide power when going faster than 25km/h or surpass the 250W average? You've needed to get a license and insurance etc to ride those kind of bikes on the road in the UK for a while now.

Is that article saying that manufacturers who import non class 1 e-bikes to the UK also need additional approval now? Although I'm not sure which bike brands exactly that would apply to - I've only ever looked at the standard class 1's.

Seems like more of a preventative measure to keep eBikes, and there are plenty in both kit and manufactured formats, that have sheltered under the for off road use only (wink wink) and 250w while putting out more like 700w type bikes and the 25 kmh/250w bikes on the forefront.
