Hi guys,

Can you run a two wheelset setup (29+ and 27.5+) with different freehubs (Shimano and Sram XD) if you keep both at 11 speed?

I would just swap the wheels and transform my commuter to a trailbike while keeping the same chain. If possible then what do I need to take into consideration when buying a new cassette. Currently I have a 11-42t NX system? Reason why I'm asking is because I found a good deal on a XD wheelset.

Thanks a lot.

Yes

SRAM and Shimano 11 speed mtb cassette spacing is the same
what do I need to take into consideration when buying a new cassette.
SRAM XD cassettes are a lot more expensive than HG (Shimano spline patern like your NX)

SLX can be had for £32 (discounted online)
Whereas you'd be lucky to find an XD as cheap as twice that price.
