Hi all, was looking for some thoughts re putting double crown forks on my 2019 levo. I had been wondering about upgrading to a Kenevo but I think the angles of the Levo are better for the style of riding Im doing. Would like to look at more travel up my front end and a bit stiffer. Does anyone have any experience of upgrading to double crowns?

Cheers
Robin

Yes I have the Fox Factory 36 160mm on both my '19 and my '20 Levo.
Edit: Sorry I didn't read to the end, you are looking for Double Crown.
Stop reading here.
Keep in mind though more than 160mm travel will void your warranty and also would probably change your Levo Geo enough to make a difference in ride.
Of all the forks I tried, this was the best match for my riding.

Both I think are discontinued, but the 2021 version has some further improvements.

ah okay cheers for that. Am in a bit of a levo versus Kenevo indecision at the moment and thought it might be a bit of a compromise. Just fancy a bit more travel at the front end.

I put a 170 mm lyrik on my Levo and 40 mm rise handlebar and I'm very happy with that. Cheaper to try that first, no? Also using slickoleum (seven dollars for 1 ounce tube on eBay) on stanchions of fork which makes a huge difference in fork travel.
I used to have a 160 mm fork and if I had to do it again I would've stuck with that instead of the 170 mm. Increasing to 160 mm travel just involves buying a longer $50 air spring to be installed the next time you have your fork servicing at LBS. Made a big difference for me.

I rode my Levo today with a 170 (Mezzer)fitted and I definitely prefer the 160 at the front. The 160 pretty much feels better everywhere for me, better steering, braking, turning..easier to find grip with the 160 too.

160 Manitou Mezzer is my current favorite fork on the Levo. I have tried 180, 170 and they all feel like shit cornering. I have plenty of fat old customers that run 170mm because they use more travel to compensate for their lack of bike handling skills. They’ll tell you all day long how much better it feels, but none of them can turn.

just fitted a 2021 160mm Lyric Ulimate to my 2019 Levo Comp. Like you I was also wondering whether to get a more Enduro focused bike with more travel......not now. The Lyric has transformed my bike. Much more capable on gravity runs, cornering etc.

FWIW, my 2019 Levo Comp Carbon has a 160mm Fox 36 Kashima E-mtb fork with Grip2 fitted at the front and I recently fitted a 2021 DPX2 rear shock. I run both at lower pressures than indicated by the Fox set-up advice. Plus Fox transfer dropper.

Also when new my bike shop swapped the stock rims for Santa Cruz Reserve carbon rims on Chris King Hubs- now running tubeless with Schwalbe Magic Mary and Nobby Nic/Hans Dampf after Butchers were worn- awesome grip, takes everything I can throw at it without missing a beat.

When new swapped to Shimano XT 2 pot brakes with 1*11 Shimano shifter, XTR rear mech and chain. No problems with brakes even downhill in the Alps on very long steep descents-easy to service /maintain and shifting quality is excellent, even underload

Motor firmware recently updated (but no problems before).

It all works so well. Mostly use 500wh battery in UK- never gone below 20% remaining charge, even on very big long days out, but have a 700wh battery stashed in Switzerland for alpine use....
