Tire Question

My maxxis rear said it was tubeless ready, but about 500 miles ago, it started seeping along the seem near the bead. My Trucker Co was getting old in the bottle, so I ordered some Stan's for the most recent refresh.

Now I feel like it is seeping worse. I'm planning a new tire in the next hundred miles or so, but just wondered what others thought might be happening here.

I'm new to tubeless & have had this happen too. Mine happened though after I reseated the bead after it burped & went flat- it began seeping. I'm wondering in my case whether there's slight bits of dirt or something not sealing the bead that well.

So the sealant worked fine for 500 miles, but now isn't? Tricky.

Have you maintained the tyre pressure set initially, how often do you check? What I'm thinking here is that maybe the beads are burping if the tyre pressure is too low and you are cornering aggressively, or maybe you are just riding more aggressively?

The latex sealant in my tyres seems to set around the bead. Whenever I remove the tyre, it looks like glue has set in that location. It sure feels like glue that has set when I'm trying to peel it off! As useful as that is for resisting burping, it makes it a right bugger when it comes to tyre removal. So I have the opposite problem to you!

Picture isn't doing it justice, it's coming from the seem in the tire and not the bead. Leaking from a few spots along the treads too. Tire is nearing the end of its time of service, so I'm not too concerned, just wondering.

Always check pressures before I ride and it rarely needs air, maybe every third or fourth ride needs a top off. Front shows zero signs of the same issue, but is original to the bike and has managed 2500+ miles.
