Smashed my handlebar thumb switch and the replacement is now a universal unit and it uses a patch cable to connect the new round 6 pin connector with the old flat 4 pin connector that goes in the motor. I can easily get this new thumb switch BUT the connector is out of stock.
So…I figure I’ll splice the old flat connector onto the new switch. As I cut the wire I was sure hoping the wires would be the same colors😅Of course not! Does anyone know which color wires to connect?
I even tore apart the old switch which was already in pieces to see that only 4 wires were connected and the 5th purple wire didn’t seem to be connected.

I have the same problem - did you find a solution how to connect the cables together?
I did but it was a long journey! No amount of splicing wires would work. I even had friends that are electrical engineers look at their work at the circuits under a microscope.
What eventually worked was contacting Specialized Rider Care at (877) 808-8154 and Terry understood the issue and sent the part FedEx. For Free! Another story where Specialized goes the extra mile. Good luck and hope you can find the adapter. I also had to buy the new thumb switch which was about $50 but if it breaks again it will be a plug and play fix.

The original remote is out of production. This was not just a switch but a hmi converter.
You need the new version, which is split in a remote (switch) and a converter.

hmi converter:
