Welcome.
And strange coincidence. Yesterday my neighbor and I went on a ride. His front wheel must have picked up a rock which went thru the chainring. The chain wasn’t tracking properly and was trying to jump off the chainring. He used gravity to get back home. When we inspected the damage we noticed one tooth was bent towards the frame. No paint damage occurred but it was close. I bent the tooth back into position. There was a very small burr that needed some slight filing. We both have Trek rails. Problem solved.
