Hi all,

I’m looking into a BERGAMONT E-TRAILSTER 150 EXPERT.

Anyone have this bike or share any info or tips on this bike as a first time e-bike rider.

Insurance any suggestions welcome.

And locks don’t plan on leaving it unattended but may be odd time in a shop. Again recommendations please.

It states on the website it has no pedals is that normal?

Total novice so will be searching for helmets gloves etc too any suggestions.

Thank you

Most new bikes have a cheap set of plastic peddles for display purposes. They are fine but…you’ll probably want to something that suits your riding style or shoes.

Helmet, shoes, bar grips, etc…things you can negotiate for with your local bike shop (LBS). They could help you decide also and give you advice based on your riding style.

Your LBS can help you with the initial setup for suspension and geometry. But anything you touch (saddle, grips pedals) will be a good start for personal preferences.

As far as a lock. I don’t carry or use one because my bike is always with me. When I ride with my wife, and stop at the Starbucks, one of us stands on guard. Not always convenient …but these bikes can be a target for theft.

Welcome to EMTB!
Locks - just don't leave it outside shops etc.
If we're sitting outside a café or pub we use a simple combination lock to secure them to a post or bench, or just to each other to stop some twat just grabbing one and riding off.
However at home they're kept in the garage and I've added 2 ground anchors to the concrete floor and the bikes are secured with 6 various Gold rated heavy/thick chains to the floor and each other.
This means our house insurance is happy to add them to the policy for a nominal amount. We've also added theft away from home to the policy.
