There doesn’t seem to be a lot of discussion on here or online about how the powertrain motor performs and how much range it gives with the larger 720wh battery, plus how the two modes work in practice. Does anyone have any experience?

I’ve got about 700 miles on the Powertrain System. In the Rally mode default setting (85% support), at 210 lbs , I’m seeing about 30 miles of mostly technical terrain with about 1,000 elevation. In Range mode it’s almost 50 miles. Even though it’s a 90nm Brose motor that’s supposedly same as what Gen3 Levo run, the Specialized version is 565 Watts max power where the SRAM is 680 Watts. Having ridden both, the added power especially at 200+ lbs is very noticeable on grades but does consume some extra juice.

Yesterday I raced a GASGAS ECC 6 vs. a Gen2 Turbo Levo S-Works and I can tell you the SRAM doesn't provide any more power. What I think is happening is that one is quoting mechanical power output while the other is quoting electric power output (before the losses). Basically, Specialized will also give you nearly 700W if you just multiply the current with the voltage, but there is ~15% loss through the motor so you get ~570W output that you actually feel.
