Hello,

I have sram PD-1230 group with NX chain (new) and would to ask if anyone has any experience between chain life on ebike. Based on test below, X01 should last 2x more than NX or GX

Has anyone experience with different SRAM chains on 12 speed?

Does it make sense to spend more money for X01?

I had an XX1 Eagle black on my Whyte T130 mtb. I managed 1403 miles on that bike with "stretch" at 0.25%. There was no discernible wear on the cassette or the ring, other than scratches. The cassette was a SRAM XG-1295 Eagle.

Before that chain I was averaging 650 miles per chain (9 &10 speed) on a range of other mtb bikes. I used to change chains at about 0.65%. I would get typically 3 chains per cassette and the fourth chain would never run.

So if stretch is proportional to miles covered, then the XX1 Eagle12-speed was on target for between 5 and 6 times the life I had previously got from a chain. I sold the bike, so I never discovered whether I could actually get that mileage, nor what the impact upon the cassette and ring would have been.
