Has anybody had a similar squishy sound coming from their Rise shock? Here’s a sample from mine (M10) when pushing the bike up and down. Any ideas what to check and fix?

it would be good to see it as well, for example the stroke / sound sounds too long for the stroke of a shock, unless the shock is nearly flat and you're working it through it's full range of motion. Even then it's hard to imagine - my shock only has 57mm of actual travel. However If you are pumping it through it's full range of motion then I doubt that many here would be familiar with that sound - it isn't something I've ever done.

Soundwave, the sound you recorded doesn't sound normal. As you know there will always be a squishy sound when pushing down and releasing the bike, due to the shock oil cycling through the valving. It should be a quieter fluid sound.

If you could humor me a bit. Let's try this first: Write down your current shock pressure. Let all the air out. Coat the shaft with Fox shock oil or equivalent oil. Cycle the shock up and down a few times with no air in the shock. Work the oil into the wiper seal. Fill the shock back up with air. As you pump air in, stop and cycle the bike up and down about 10 times every 30 PSI. Do this until air pressure reaches your SAG setting. Let me know if this affected the sound?

I have several questions. 1) Which did your M10 come with, the FOX DPX2 or Fox Float X? How many ride hours do you have on your shock? Other than the unusual noise, is everything else functioning correctly on the shock, i.e. rebound working, compression working, no stiction?

If you go to YouTube and do a search "DPX2 making strange noise", you'll find a lot of videos from others whose shocks are making a similar noise.

Would be interested to know your mileage on the shock but almost certainly needs a service. Generally means either the damping oil has degraded or has air in it.

Just had my fork and shock serviced (had done a lowers/air chamber service) after >2000km and it's riding so much better...
