Hello everyone, I have a problem regarding the 13s2p battery for the SPECIALIZED VADO SL (SBC-B15) bicycle. I accidentally shorted the battery pins. I checked the cells, the voltages of each one are OK, the entire package is 53V, but the TCU does not see the batteries (the e-bike cannot be turned on, the diodes do not light up). Can anyone advise what to check, whether the BMS is blocked, what diagnostic steps to take? Indicates a link to the battery specifications: SL Batteries
I'm attaching some photos of MoBo.

Hello,

I would first check the SCF fuse and power mosfets. But if you disconnected the upper board, it's possible you triggered a protection in BMS firmware.

I have maybe simular problem, when i press power button its flash the lights ang switch off.
The battery was opened and a blown fuse was fixed with jumper, but it did not help.
How to understend battery is blocked or motor is blocked?

Hi, I think you don't have a battery problem, since the voltage reaches the TCU. Try pressing the button on the TCU briefly/1-2s and a second time longer/2-3s, it should turn on. Have you modified the factory wiring (light switch, GPS, chip :) )?

Have you checked the charger, the pins in the charger connector and the charging socket on the bike?

If the battery is dead, that's a problem.

This is a non-repairable part, the BMS company blocks the battery if you break the current circuit.

I sent my battery to a professional service that deals with regeneration/repair, they were helpless, they sent the battery back.

The solution to the problem, quite expensive, was to buy a new battery/from the second-hand market.

It's true, the BMS firmware will trigger a lock if a serious error occurred. But I can unlock any Specialized BMS. The only problem is that I need physical access to the battery.

@cream you seem to know your stuff with regards to batteries, do you think it is possible to build a pack for an SL using 21700 cells and the OE BMS?
