Specialized Levo sudden loss of power

During a recent ride the motor suddenly lost power with a high pitch whine - suspected belt failure.
Any ideas? The bike is a year old and has done about 3000km.

Without doubt belt failure, new motor for you?

You would think so, but they don't.
All motor faults are solved by a new motor, they don't open them up at all whilst in warranty
