Apparently it was from some unknown, external source ?

It's probably excited to go on a ride with you![/QUOTE
Lumpy, that’s what I thought! ??
Will doSo if your bike isn't getting excited to ride and instead has some "leakage", it's probably coming from outside, like chain lube. Less likely is from inside. I think there is oil in the motor and it could be that, or maybe from something else like a seat post if it's hydraulic.
I think I'd pull off a crank arm and a side cover and see what's going on inside.
I hope that’s the case! I’ll let you knowWill do
I hope that’s the case! Will let you know . CheersThere is absolutely no oil inside the engine, only a little grease. If it is oil it must be from an external source.

It is a mystery at the moment. But perhaps that is a possibility.Does "clear oily substance" actually have to be oil? Could it be watery crud that's got under the motor housing?
Drop some of it into water and see what happens. If you get a rainbow effect, or the liquid element floats on the water, then it might be oil. But if not, then not.It is a mystery at the moment. But perhaps that is a possibility.
