Hi

I am thinking about getting shorter crank arms and some thinner pedals to try and cut down my pedal strikes.

What should I be considering as a noob?
Are there down sides to changing to shorter ones? Will I need a specific tool?

My bike (cube 140 hybrid 140 2017) has: Crankset: FSA CK-745, 16T

where do I measure them from so I can check how long mine are?

Any recommended parts or places to buy are appreciated. thanks for your time fellow emtb enthusiasts.

A very common crank model is the Miranda Delta. It comes in several lengths.

You have to check these values (bottom of the page - Q-FACTORS) to find something that suit your bike.

The dimension you need is the one on the top left of the following image;

If you can measure that I can tell you if the cranks from Merlin Cycles are correct as I have a set on my Trek.

Thanks guys and I hear you about learning to read the trail better I got loads of pedal strikes when I first started riding my emtb. Maybe I do just need to learn more about riding before I start looking at equipment. ?
