I thought i did one time. Ordered a new one from the states. Tufned out it was just the connector being loose or needing cleaning/dialectric grease. I cleaned my battery connection as well

Anyone have experienced a shimano speed sensor failure?
Yes I've experienced the a speed error W011 and thought it was the sensor fail
but it turned out to be a human error.

Fragile Shimano STEPs connector

The Speed sensor was probably OK but the Shimano STEP SD50 connector socket
may fail agains clumsy people without the Shimano connector tool.

If you've checked to magnet distance and location. My advice disconnect speed sensor
on motor and examine the socket it might be a bent center pin like in mine.

Also the cable may be broken.

If You still have problems after checking/fixing the above replace sensor.

I thought I had one fail, but it turned out to be thr magnet had rotated ever so slightly and that was enough to give an intermittent fault.

I've never tested it, but not sure they should have continuity through as would either be s Reed or Hall effect sensor?

I guess only Mister Shimano would know the answer. It’s like a lot of electrical problems that you trouble shoot with a DMM and they don’t go away until you replace the component with a known good one.
